Optum is interviewing for a Full-time Nurse Practitioner for the Greater Boston area. 


 


Below is a a broad description of typical job duties for a full-time Optum Nurse Practitioner for a better understanding of their scope of responsibilities.


 


Responsibilities for the Nurse Practitioner include:



-A combination of responsibilities that include providing direct care to aging custodial residents, long-term care facilities, acute care to patients in skilled nursing facilities and primary care to patients living at home in the community


-Collaborating with primary care and attending physicians, facility staff and patients' families in providing and coordinating patients' care


-Participating in care conferences with other professionals and patients' family members


-Professional interaction with nursing home staff, physicians and administration


-Coordination of care for patients with appropriate length of stay containment


Positions in this job function require specific education/certification/licensure and are considered an extension to Physicians and provide direct patient care in a clinic or in-home setting.

Requirements

Requirements:


-National Nurse Practitioner certification in Adult, Family, Gerontology or Acute Care
-Unrestricted APRN licensure in Massachusetts or the ability to obtain


-DEA certificate or the ability to obtain


-Three years of post-grad hands-on NP clinical experience preferred


-Reliable transportation

Additional Preferred Assets:
-Long-term care experience preferred
-Familiarity with Medicare and ICD-9 coding
