Pediatric Emergency Room Nurse - (Peds ER RN - Pedi ER RN)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 12 N Pay Rate: $30.00 - 35.00
Level I Trauma Center that provides comprehensive care during medical or trauma-related emergencies to more than 70,000 children and adolescents each year. With a 17,300-square-foot center containing 36 examination rooms and a trauma bay, our Emergency Center treats patients 24-hours-a-day, seven days-a-week. Board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians are in attendance at all times, and pediatric and surgical subspecialty care is available as needed on a consultative basis. Physicians who refer a patient for emergency evaluation are encouraged to speak with an attending physician by calling the dedicated Physician Referral Line.
The pediatric emergency room nurse (Pedi ER RN) provides care to patients ranging from newborns to 18 years of age who need immediate care for conditions such as seizures, diabetes, asthma, hemophilia, appendicitis, metabolic diseases, lacerations, fractures, oncologic emergencies, psychiatric crises, and other illnesses. The pediatric ER nurse performs assessments and examinations, administers medications, starts IVs, performs catheterizations and CPR, and assists with splinting broken bones, in addition to other duties, working closely with the patients’ families in the process. The pediatric ER unit may also serve as the pediatric burn and/or trauma center.
Required Qualifications
1. PA RN License
2. PA Child abuse fingerprints completed
3. PALS
open heart experience and cardiac critical care a MUST
