JOB SUMMARY

Eatonville Restaurant is the premier southern food restaurant in the city, offering both traditional and non-traditional southern dishes. Sited in the historic U Street corridor, the restaurant highlights Zora Neale Hurston's strong connection to Washington, DC. This exciting restaurant is looking for an enthusiastic multi-tasker has the combined skillset of being both an exquisite events planner and a stellar marketer. In concert with the Events and Marketing Team, this dynamic self-starter will serve as one of the primary "faces of Eatonville," involved in all aspects of booking events as well as spearheading the marketing outreach of the restaurant.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Day-to-day work includes:
- Working with clients to solidify event dates, room set-up and menu selection as well as provide proposals, contracts and invoices. Planning specific events details including room use and technical needs, making menu recommendations, meeting with clients face-to-face and/or extensive telephone and email correspondence;

- Maintaining accurate and upaEURtoaEURdate records for all event management projects, including clients, vendors, entertainers, speakers, attendees, etc. and entering the information into the database;

- Conceiving ideas for and developing new in-house events; curating and promoting the monthly in-house series, Food and Folklore; Providing on-site support for high-touch events

- Cultivating new organizations, businesses and universities to promote current events and expand the client base; Reaching out to current customers to promote the use of the restaurant space for private rental for weddings, rehearsal dinners, sorority/fraternity gatherings, etc.

- Creating marketing flyers and help manage design and production for printed materials, brochures, signage and other marketing pieces. Creating and editing promotional documents and internal correspondence;

- Using conventional media and social media to promote the Eatonville brand;

- Working with the overall Events and Marketing Team of Busboys and Poets/Eatonville to provide consistent customer service and unique event experiences by pitching in and seizing opportunities, when needed.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor's Degree preferred
* Experience in marketing and event management required
* Experience with social media campaigns is a plus
* Knowledge in event/meeting/conference setups and executions
* Knowledge of MS Office required. Familiarity with HTML knowledge and Tripleseat a plus.
* Must be detail-oriented, organized, and the ability to prioritize various deadlines
* Must be able to bring new ideas and creative input to Eatonville's events and marketing
* Must be able to work in an office, a restaurant setting, and within the community
* Flexible enough to work, at times, in the evenings and on the weekends

SALARY AND BENEFITS
$45,000.00/year plus benefits including medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, AD&D insurance, life insurance, paid vacation leave, paid sick leave, meal discounts and other benefits.
