MACHINE BUILDER IN OLDSMAR - Rate $13-14, MUST BE ABLE TO WORK OVERTIME (Includes Saturdays)

Position Summary
Responsible for the timely build-up of the various machines and assemblies. 



  • Positions and aligns parts.
  • Bolts, screws, and fastens parts together.
  • Disassembles and replaces parts as required.
  • Tests functional performance of assembly.
  • Cleans and lubricates parts and assemblies.
  • Marks identifying information on parts..
  • Plans assembly procedures, following specifications.
  • Removes small quantities of metal to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts.
  • Drills, taps, or reams holes.
  • Aligns components, bolts, and screws, and fastens them together.
  • Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and works them to test free movement.
  • Bends and installs pipe for hydraulic systems.
  • Aligns and meshes gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears.
  • Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product.
  • Properly document changes to Bills of Materials and markup drawings to indicate changes made. Communicate these changes to Team Leader so that they can be properly documented in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain personal tools inventory.



 Requirements
  • Candidates should be fluent with the use of analog and digital calipers.

  • Candidates should be fluent with the use a tape measure and a level.

  • Candidates must be able to read complicated multiple-page blue prints and be able to combine them with 2-D and 3-D drawings to assemble machinery.

  • Candidates must be able to work independently… and as a team player.

  • Candidates must be able to communicate well and express issues to other team mates and supervisors.

  • Candidates must be highly skilled in detailed machine assembly processes and complicated mechanical designs.

  • Candidates must know basic mechanical principles of leveling, squaring and plumb measurements.

  • Candidates must be able to calculate decimal and fractional equations and other basic mathematical skills.

  • Candidates must possess basic hand tools and measuring equipment, and know how to use a torque wrench properly, and be familiar with torque specifications.

  • Candidates must understand the metallurgical properties of stainless steel and the requirements for drilling and tapping,  grinding and polishing to FDA standards.

  • Candidates should have basis understanding of machine shop principles to be able to communicate necessary procedures to machinists.

  • Candidates must be able to work in cramped positions and/or stand for hours on concrete. 

  • Candidate should be informed that schedules can/will change at a moment’s notice. (expect long hours/weekends)

  • Candidates should be familiar with mechanical, electrical and pneumatic (air powered) machinery.

  • Candidates should have a sense of urgency, (get things done quickly), but also have attention to detail as our machines are very complicated and need to be precise.
