About this job

Position Summary:  Assist with all aspects of the dining room operations in accordance with company standard.  Assist with meeting or exceeding resident dining expectations.  Ensure proper cleaning, storage, and availability of all Dining Services cookware, dishware, etc.  Keep dining areas or dish room areas clean and sanitary.  Other relevant duties may be required or assigned by management. 

Routine Functions of the Position:

  • Prepares dining room for meals
  • Keeps all dining areas clean/maintains cleanliness and sanitation
  • Is polite and cheerful when greeting and serving residents
  • Properly cleans and sanitizes the dishes and silverware per company standards
  • Is responsible for floor maintenance in the dish room and kitchen areas
  • Operates the dish machine and other kitchen related equipment as needed
  • Properly record temperature and sanitizer test results in logs
  • Maintains dish carts by cleaning and sanitizing properly

Work Environment:

  • Lifting/carrying (40 lbs.) and push/pull  50lbs
  • Continuous standing (100%)
  • Walking (50%)
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, and bending
  • Normal range of hearing and vision, hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Workplace includes entire campus and occasional off-site functions
  • Equipment use:  walk-in and reach-in coolers / steam tables / mixers / tongs / knives / spatulas / plates / griddles / ovens / broilers / microwaves / ladles / measuring utensils/ etc.
  • Hourly non-exempt position 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience:  Kitchen-related experience preferred
  • General:  Must complete mandatory Dining Orientation with Director of Dining Services.  Must present a neat, clean appearance and demonstrate a positive, cheerful attitude.
