About this job

 
 
  1.  Provide independent, supervision, limited and extensive assistance, and full dependence services in accordance with the client’s plan of care.
  2.  Follow instructions for client care written by the RN-Aide Supervisor for the services provided.
  3.  Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  1. Help with prescribed exercises which the client and CNA have been taught by appropriate professional personnel;
  2. Provide or assist with personal care (i.e., bathing, care of mouth, skin and hair);
  3. Assist with ambulation.
  4. Assist client with self administration of medication which are ordered by a physician or other person authorized by state law to prescribe medications;
  5. Perform incidental household services which are essential to the client’s care at home which may include but are not limited to meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, organizing incoming mail;
  6. Perform or assist with other life activities which may include grooming and dressing guidance, clothing shopping, recreational activities, running errands, periodic reviews with family, and providing transport to appointments and other activities (i.e., doctor appointments, beauty shop); and
  7. Report and record changes in the client’s condition, family situation or needs to the supervisor and when applicable the appropriate health care professional. 
  1.  Follow all Home Instead Senior Care’s policies and procedures.
  1. Adhere to Home Instead Senior Care’s Infection Control Plan, consistently using the Universal Precautions guidelines and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).  This position has been identified in the company’s Infection Control Plan as being “at risk”.
  2. Work within the guidelines of applicable state and federal regulations and licensing requirements.   
  3. Maintain active registration with the applicable licensing board.
  4. Complete in-service training of a minimum of 12 hours per year to ensure continued home care competence.
  5. Complete daily all paperwork required by Home Instead Senior Care or NC state regulation. 
  6. Work with assigned clients, changing clients as assigned based on the needs of the client and company.
                10.          Represent the company well through the timely and professional performance of assigned duties. 
11.         Accept any other duties assigned by the RN-Aide Supervisor or the Agency Director. 
 
Essential Functions:
  1. Must possess a valid North Carolina’s Drivers license and carry vehicle insurance.  A copy of the current policy must be submitted to the Home Instead Senior Care office. 
  2. Can perform physical functions considered essential to the satisfactory performance of the job including the following:  driving, writing, reading, using the telephone, performing all household chores, and assisting clients according to the Plan of Care. 
  3. Always demonstrates responsible and professional behaviors in the Care of Clients and in interactions with family members and the public. 
  4. Provides written permission for a criminal background check and motor vehicle driving record check.
  5. Presents current Nursing Assistant license.   
  6. Maintains active registration in good standing with the Nursing Assistant licensing board or registry.
