UnitedHealth Group is currently looking for experienced J2EE Senior Developers to join our team. As a J2EE Senior Developer, you will be a key participant in the design and development of various enhancements and strategic projects to our Medicare administration system. Our solution is deployed in a unix environment using WebSphere Application Server and an Oracle 11g RAC database

As part of our development team, you will predominantly be involved in building business solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications. You'll stretch your skills and grow your careers as a primary contributor in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting all types of applications consistent with the established specifications and business requirements in order to deliver business value. Primary Responsibilities:

Predict emerging customer needs and develop innovative solutions to meet them
Solve unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business
Participate in the development of business strategy
Develop and manage business plans to achieve objectives

Lead large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives
Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
Influence senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches
Direct cross-functional and/or cross-segment teams
Deploy and maintain Applications/Systems

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of Java/J2EE design and development experience,in each of the following: Web Services, SOAP, WSDL, XML, Enterprise Java Beans (EJBs), Spring, JDBC, SQL

Minimum of 2 years of Rational Software Architect, WebSphere Studio Application Developer, or Rational Application Developer experience or  equivalent experience in IDE (Integrated Development environment

Very strong object-oriented design and development experience.

Experience writing SQL and using JDBC to connect to relational databases.

Experience over the full software development lifecycle.

BS in Computer Science or related field.
