STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

This statement sets forth the basic tasks and duties of the job, but is not intended to provide a detailed description of all functions that may be required to perform the job satisfactorily.

MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Check daily with the Executive Director for special instructions and priorities.
  • Prepare rooms for move-ins which includes but is not limited to painting, cleaning, and ensuring equipment in room functioning properly.
  • Walk through the community daily, replacing any needed bulbs, including spotlights, exit lights, chandelier bulbs, etc.
  • Police the grounds daily, picking up any debris. If necessary use the blower.
  • Check the main entrance daily to make sure visitors get a good first impression. The door and any glass should be clean. Flowers should be properly watered and any seasonal decorations properly hung. Door mats should be clean. Make sure the door itself works properly, is clean, and paint is in good condition.
  • Check daily and respond to the maintenance work order board/binder.
  • Check weekly for special projects for the week.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the community.
  • To act at all times in a professional manner to visitors, staff and residents in the community.
  • Attendance on the job as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned for the successful operation of the community.
  • Must be a minimum of eighteen years old.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful of completion of drug screening.
  • Must obtain a satisfactory criminal record check per State guidelines.
  • Must have received a tuberculosis screening and physical examination within twelve months prior to employment (or as State Guidelines Require) to assure that the employee is free of diseases communicable within the scope of employment and physically qualified to work.
  • Must be able to communicate well with management, staff, residents, and families.
  • Must be able to paint well.
  • Must be able to move furniture.
  • Must be able to do minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to work under stress and in emergency situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to work under conditions which require sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and grasping with risk of environmental exposure to communicable disease.
  • Must be able to effectively convey instructions and information to residents and staff members.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with other staff members, referral sources, residents and their families and physicians.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Requirements for personal protective equipment include infection control kit, rubber gloves, heavy shoes, goggles, dust filter mask.
