Savin Foods is gearing up to open our second Smashburger at University Station in Westwood MA in March 2015 and we are seeking Cashiers/Guest Service Expert (GSE) to join our team. If you are available, you could start right away at our Natick location or official training is scheduled to begin on Tuesday March 10.
At this time we are looking to hire five GSE's. These GSE's will assist with the training of all other GSE's once we are in the new Westwood restaurant. We will pay a premium of $10.00 per hour for these folks and our normal GSE starting rate will be $9.50 per hour.
What do our Guest Serve Experts (GSE's) do while at work?
Ensures all guests receive outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every guest; ask customers if they have visited Smashburger before and make all customers feel welcome
Responsible for entering orders into POS system and taking cash and credit cards, makes change for customers and works with manager to handle, record and store cash correctly
Takes pride in dealing with customers and makes customers feel like they matter
Delivers food to the guest and check in with customers to ensure they are satisfied with their meal
Maintains the front counter area in a neat and orderly fashion
Maintains the cleanliness of the beverage center, dining room, doors and windows and restrooms
Ensures the front of the house open cooler is stocked with variety of beverage options
Upsells milkshakes and make recommendation to customer on a regular basis
If in the Expo position, ensures food is coming from the kitchen and going to the customer; check orders for accuracy and portion control.
Able to resolve basic customer complaints to deescalate dissatisfied customers
Cross train and assist with packaging orders and with food preparation, when necessary
Follow food safety guidelines at all times
Other duties as assigned
What you need to be successful with us?
Availability during our hours of operation which includes day, evenings, weekends and some holidays
Thorough knowledge of the menu items
Reliable, able to show up to work on time and for each scheduled shift
Proactive with all work related tasks
Positive attitude with customers and coworkers
Clear and friendly communication skills
Understanding of time management
Attention to detail
Cooperates with all team members
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and able to provide appropriate documentation to complete the form I-9 within 3 days of their first day of employment
Must be 18 years of age and have an acceptable criminal background check
High school diploma/GED
Knowledge of basic math skills
Basic computer knowledge including Point of Service (POS) experience
