Primary Responsibilities:



  • Work closely with SVP Payment Integrity to identify and drive forward the business unit's priorities in alignment with UnitedHealthcare priorities

  • Mature and articulate the Payment Integrity strategy with respect to value proposition, positioning, and segment product portfolio(s)

  • Understanding of industry and market for potential key external partners, who can support our organization's ability to bring leading capabilities to the market quickly

  • Knowledgeable of industry and market trends impacting UnitedHealthcare's ability to prevent fraud and control medical spend in support of providing affordable healthcare for its consumers and clients

  • Passionate, creative and fearless goal setting and achievement; lead innovation and the development of new concepts and products to meet emerging segment and provider trends impacting UnitedHealthcare and its customers

  • Evaluate market feedback, interests and needs to ensure product advancement and lifecycle will continue to maximize opportunities and deliver the desired outcomes

  • Attends key internal meetings (Senior Leadership Team, Business Reviews, and Operational Performance Reviews) and anticipates manages preparation for and, when appropriate, facilitates meetings and events on behalf of the Payment Integrity leadership.

  • Develops consistency with regard to presentations, CEO/CFO reports, external correspondence, CEO staff meetings, etc. Assists in ensuring meeting agendas represent the key initiatives and overall business priorities

  • Partners with leadership to implement key initiatives and goals, and maintain project status

  • Coach and support a team of direct and indirect reports to maximize their effectiveness and efficiency in communication and processes

  • Ability to showcase UHG's Culture and Value

  • Develops strong relationships with UnitedHealthcare stakeholders, business partners and Benefit Operations leadership

  • Assists leadership across the organization to create better alignment with business partners across business units, business segments, and functional areas

  • Assists in managing processes of Payment Integrity, including working with Human Capital and Finance on headcount cost/management, and other duties as needed

  • Ensures alignment of resources against segment planning and funding

  • Tracks progress against plan, identifies deviations and suggests plans to remediate; collaborates with other Payment Integrity leadership in providing reports and analysis as required

  • Delivers reporting in demonstration of financial plan to actual results, deviation and forecasting

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree

  • Strong track record for success bringing products to market, leading teams, expanding a P&L

  • Cross-functional knowledge (Product Development, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Analytics, People Development)

  • Ability to not only see tasks through to completion, but to ‘identify' the tasks needed to move the business forward

  • 7+ years of progressive product management career progression in B2B, Direct to Provider, and Direct to Consumer health care (or financial) product development, launch, and management

  • 2+ years of project management and analytical experience

  • In-depth healthcare or financial industry knowledge and clear communication of industry trends and market-leading strategies

  • Experience in business development and partnership management

  • Strong project management skills, including risk and contingency management, ability to manage competing demands and set priorities, and achieve deliverables

  • Experience working in and leading teams in a matrix organization

  • Experience with business case development, basic product accounting, financial modeling, and P&L management

  • Strong leadership, management, communication and negotiation skills

  • Demonstrated experience in preparing senior-level presentations and reports

  • Ability to work well across the enterprise and fostering strong relationships with leaders in Optum and UHC

  • Strong analytical skills; has hands-on experience; ability to quickly aggregate and analyze information and draw conclusions

  • Strong communicator; capable of effectively presenting ideas and selling concepts and tactics; excellent writer, proven ability to communicate effectively

  • Proven ability to build relationships cross-functionally and lead toward common goals

  • Proven ability to build and develop a team of direct reports (5+) and indirect reports (15+)

  • Intermediate to Advanced skills with PowerPoint and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:



  • MBA

  • 3+ years of healthcare industry or financial industry experience

  • Strong track record for success bringing products to market, leading teams, expanding a P&L within UHC/Optum or fraud protection within a financial industry

  • Working knowledge of UnitedHealthcare and/or Optum business
