Off the Grid is looking for Part-time/Seasonal dynamic Event Crew Members for the execution of our largest-scale weekly food markets that run this coming March through October in San Francisco. Twilight in the Presidio will run every Thursday night, Fort Mason Center will run every Friday night, and Picnic at the Presidio will run every Sunday afternoon. As a member of our Production team, you will be responsible for the seamless onsite execution (that will involve the set up and break down) of these labor-intensive events. This is a very physical position that requires some early morning, late night, and weekend shifts. If you enjoy working outdoors, have experience in the preparation and execution of large-scale events, and love food, this is the position for you!
Responsibilities:
Complete the setup and/or breakdown of trusses, tables/chairs, tents, displays, lighting, and music equipment
Follow and execute a specific event layout within a strict timeline as determined by the Production Manager and Production Supervisors
Maintain and inventory all event, production, tools, hardware, and storage equipment
Adhere to safety procedures, removing any obstacles and potential dangers from the event space
Uphold the Off the Grid standards at all times and follow all implemented policies and procedures
Care for and ensure proper treatment of equipment and materials
Operate vehicles including, but not limited to, box trucks, forklifts, and utility carts
Requirements:
2 years event production experience
Strong sense of urgency and work ethic
Ability to work and contribute in a team environment
Self-starter and multi-tasker who can manage simultaneous projects
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to take initiative and contribute ideas and solutions
Focused and organized, with acute attention to detail
Ability to quickly diagnose and solve problems
Excellent verbal communication skills
Restaurant or catering event experience, a plus
CA driver's license with clean driving record
Commercial truck driving experience a plus
Forklift certified, preferred
Qualifications:
Relevant experience in event production (at least 2 years)
Knowledge of San Francisco and greater Bay Area
Reliable transportation
Valid CA license and clean driving record
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to bend, lift, or climb.
Occasionally required to lift moderate weights (25-50 pounds).
Occasionally required to lift heavy weights (50 pounds or greater).
Hours may vary: 10-25 hours/week, evening and weekend shifts required
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
