Housekeeper - Healthcare Setting

Role:

Day to Day responsibility for ensuring the house is clean and sanitary, properly clean and sanitizes patient rooms and common areas, bathrooms, offices, all other spaces as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Prior related experience in hospital, hospice house, nursing home, and/or general cleaning experience as deemed necessary by the EVS Manager for the position.
* Must possess technical proficiencies in housekeeping functions.
* Strong Interpersonal skills
* Working knowledge of housekeeping industry standards & regulations
* A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) is preferred
* Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language conversationally
* Valid Fla. Drivers license and appropriate insurance coverage
* Applicable housekeeping experience as determined by the EVS Manager.
* Ability to keep simple records
* Ability to follow simple step-by-step instructions
* Ability working with detergents and other cleaning chemicals used for custodial work without adverse reactions

Daily Responsibilities:

General:

* Follow written job flow on daily basis to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all parts of building
* Remove Trash and/or cardboard to exterior of building
* Share expertise with co-workers both formally and informally
* Ability to constantly lift, pull, carry, and/or push objects weighing up to 55 pounds
* Ability to stand, kneel, walk, climb, crouch or bend for long periods of time
* Employee carries out detailed instructions for several tasks. Guidance and instruction is always available to the incumbent and prior permission is required before changing the methods or steps used in the job's work.
* Perform assigned housekeeping care to various types of surfaces, floors, equipment to include, but not limited to, vinyl composition tile, ceramic tile, quarry tile, concrete, terrazzo, hardwood flooring, rubber, carpet, painted wall surfaces, wall hangings, linens and towels, beds and all components thereof, laminate wood, hardwood TV stands and tables, radios, plastic and metal carts.
* Determine needed supplies and equipment, and relate that need to immediate Supervisor
* Sweep, mop, strip, dust, and refinish floors
* Carpet cleaning to include vacuuming, shampooing, and extraction
* Wood floor cleaning to include spray buffing and oiling as directed
* Move furniture and small equipment to clear work area
* Account for equipment and materials assigned
* Assist in training new employees for housekeeping dept.
* Responsible for cleaning all equipment used thoroughly after each use
* Skill in the use of and care for housekeeping equipment including but not limited to vacuum, dusters, chemical pumps, etc.
* Report any injuries, both personal and witnessed, immediately to the Supervisor
* All other duties as assigned, by management for Chapters Health System.

Customer Service and Marketing:

* Assure timely attention to effective solutions for customer concerns and complaints.
* Immediately report any customer service complaints or concerns to Dietary Coordinator and/or EVS Manager.
