Home Instead Senior Care is looking for caring and compassionate CAREGivers to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout the Buffalo, New York community.  Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.  We provide service in many areas including Amherst, Depew, Cheektowaga, Clarence, East Amherst, Getzville, Hamburg, Lancaster, North Tonawanda, Orchard Park, Tonawanda, Williamsville, West Seneca and others in between.  Additionally, flexible scheduling is a benefit that many of our CAREGivers enjoy.  We have shifts available at various times during the day and on each day of the week.   

 
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Companionship and conversation
  • Medication and appointment reminders
  • Assistance with stabilization and walking
  • Assistance with grooming and bathing
  • Assistance with toileting and incontinence issues
  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
  • Accompany on appointments and run errands
  • Laundry and ironing
  • Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
 
Secondary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Contribute to a positive living climate for the overall quality of life
  • Provide incidental transportation
  • Perform other reasonable, related duties as assigned or requested
  • Report hours according to office policy
  • Report significant changes in a client’s needs or living conditions
  • Communicate with supervisor and office staff
 
Essential Qualifications:
  • Speaking and hearing English clearly in person or on the telephone
  • Reading English on an average adult level
  • Writing English clearly
  • Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
  • Ability to lift, push or pull up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and carry
  • Ability to withstand exposure to dust, mold, mildew, and cleaning solutions
  • Ability to adapt to various living environments and locations

Special Qualifications
  • Ability to travel and have transportation to work site locations
 
*The CAREGiver position may require you to run errands and provide incidental transportation for a client using either the CAREGiver's vehicle or a client’s vehicle*
 
Requirements to be a CAREGiver:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and valid proof of auto insurance
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
  • Complete a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and DMV check
