The Consumer Solutions Group within our Optum organization is seeking a self-motivated, solution-oriented employee to help design and execute and support design of key components of our Stars strategy.  The Product Manager's primary responsibility will be to support and define the development needed to improve Star gap closure across clinical programs. A successful candidate will understand the Optum organization and Medicare Care Management programs as well as Stars.  A fundamental ability to think analytically, collaborate with stakeholders, communicate effectively and drive to results in a matrix organization is key success factors of this role. 


 


General Job Functions:



  • Maintains and enhances the Stars source of truth that ultimately feeds the interventions for all clinical programs, including our Diabetes Healthcare Navigator, Clinically Integrated Delivery Model and Practice Based Support

  • Supports the development of the Stars analytics plan for how to most effectively measure value and ROI from a claims perspective

  • Collaborates with Operations and clinical resources to define the most effective interventions to close Stars gaps in care for Diabetics specifically as well as all Medicare members

  • Manages evolution Care Facilitation Stars program, which is focused on member outreach to coach members, schedule physician appointments and discuss medication adherence barriers

  • Maintains and develops robust product measurement plans

  • Partners with UnitedHealthcare Medicare &  Retirement key stakeholders to ensure program satisfaction

  • Supports development of technology solutions to support program execution and growth by articulating business requirements

  • Supports the development of the financial model associated with product plan and long-term factors including development of pricing strategies and value model

  • Serves as product SME to team and other constituents and demonstrates ability to articulate the product value proposition

  • Participates in product solutioning to meet non-standard client needs, ensuring any customization is scalable and drives value

  • Drives product scalability through both standard and new processes 

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Influence care management program strategies, including diabetes, Care Facilitation and CM/DM and assist with development of product roadmaps

  • Drive Propel product stage gate process through to completion for Care Facilitation and Diabetes

  • Partner with cross-functional peer groups to influence their contributions required to drive product success

  • Execute product measurement plan, including weekly leading indicator reporting and claims-based value studies

  • Ensure all Stars product development is aligned with broader product development and Stars strategies and communicated to the affected constituents

  • Develop and maintain a value model that supports the market story and enables value-based pricing

  • Develop technology solutions in partnership with Capabilities colleagues to drive efficiencies in service delivery and enhanced program reporting and scalability, serving as steward of associated capital funding

  • Review product performance against expectations and influence changes to product portfolio to improve competitive position and optimal product performance

  • Maintain current knowledge of competitive organizations and product offerings

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience working in a matrix organization

  • Self-motivated with proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize deliverables, and meet deadlines

  • Proven organizational skills with ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with peer group and internal/external business partners in order to achieve project goals

  • Demonstrated ability to work with detailed data analysis and leverage for business purposes

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel

Preferred Qualifications:



  • 5+ years health care industry background
