Description

Sensory Descriptive Panel and Shelf Life Program Coordinator

The position will serve as the primary technical support for four sensory scientists and manage the affairs of at least two on-site sensory panels, with 10-15 people per panel. In addition, the position supports a state of the art shelf life study program managing sample storage and shipping to an offsite testing facility. Data analysis and reporting (both written and oral) will be included. In addition, the person in this position will manage the maintenance of the sensory laboratory and be responsible for procurement of supplies.

· Lead a sensory descriptive panel

· Manage multiple projects simultaneously under the direction of a principle scientist

· Use laboratory equipment

· Prepare chemical solutions with minimal supervision

· Work 1-2 days per month in a warehouse environment

· Travel within the Metroplex

Competencies

· Appropriate sensory acuity for the position

· Written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences

· Understanding of statistics – means, standard deviation, linear regression

· Familiarity with food science and food chemistry

· Attention to detail

· Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel

· Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field from an accredited institution

· Able to lift, push, and pull up to 35 pounds

· Valid Driver’s License
