Regional Human Resource Manager
Whelan Security is looking for a talented and driven leader to manage our Human Resources efforts in a Region consisting of Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma and Arkansas. This position will have direct and tactical responsibility for the St. Louis area and will oversee HR efforts in Kansas City, Denver, Oklahoma City and Little Rock, AR.

This is a hands-on position with responsibility for developing an effective recruiting strategy, directing staff, and evaluating and enforcing human resources strategy and systems for our local branch. The Human Resources Manager will report to the Vice President of Human Resources and have a dotted line reporting relationship to the Regional Vice Presidents. Specific responsibilities include:
  • Provide support to branch operating units as specifically requested
  • Maintain branch structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions
  • Develop and manage an effective recruiting strategy specific to the market
  • Manage the selection, on-boarding, and placement process specific to all new employees
  • Institute, operate and/or coordinate all training programs specific to the branch
  • Administer employee benefit programs and educate employees about benefit opportunities
  • Recruit, develop and supervise office support staff
  • Enhance branch effectiveness by analyzing current processes and recommending modifications
  • Direct all branch specific employee recognition and incentive programs
  • Oversee, coordinate and enforce human resources policies and procedures throughout the branch
  • Monitor applicable human resource related requirements to ensure legal compliance
  • Assist throughout the branch with all employee communication strategies
  • Establish, control and store records management systems to maintain employee confidentiality
  • Create and enforce safety practices through safety communications, safety programs and safety training
  • Travel requirements will be approximately 30%


Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5+ years of relevant human resource experience, preferably in a multi-site environment. A college degree (Associates or greater) in a related field is preferred although equivalent experience will be considered. Candidates must demonstrate a stable work history and pass an extensive background screening which includes, but is not limited to, criminal background checks (local, state, and federal), drug test, aptitude tests, skills assessments, interviews, past employment verification, and a personality profile (behavioral assessment).

We are looking for intelligent, courteous individuals with a friendly attitude, professional demeanor, great customer service skills, and the ability to communicate effectively. SPHR or similar designations are also desirable.
