We are looking for a Statistical Programming Manager to join our team in one of our locations based in Eden Prairie, MN, Franklin, TN or Wauwatosa, WI. Telecommuters will also be considered.


 


 


The Statistical Programming Manager will provide analytic technology leadership and people leadership to a team of senior SAS developers, and partner with Data Scientists, Healthcare Subject Matter Experts and other Payment Integrity professionals to design and deploy systems to fight Healthcare Fraud, Waste and Abuse. 


 


Responsibilities:




  • Leadership responsibilities to include project leadership, system design and communication of results to business partners and clients.


  • Partner with analytical modelers & Operations leaders to design and integrate predictive models that enhance their ability to detect Fraud, Waste and Abuse.


  • Partner effectively with senior analytical leaders and cross functional teams to demonstrate the effectiveness and impact of the analytical tools developed. Support efforts to deliver operational excellence in analytical deployments on Optum IT systems.


  • Oversee the process to implement predictive models in the hardware/software supported by the business unit.


  • Train and mentor team members to most effectively incorporate predictive models into Optum's business processes.


  • Data and system development responsibilities include software design and development for analytical model production deployment, data support, code optimization, model testing, architecting model implementation approaches, managing the model deployment process and documentation development.

 

Requirements

  • Candidate should have strong solution architecting & hands-on development skills and strong analytic & statistical programming skills using SAS and software tools.


  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree in (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics) in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience


  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD in Computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, Machine Learning or related field highly preferred)


  • 5 year's experience in the SAS development work experience is required


  • 3 year's experience in Relational database development (DB2/SQL server/Oracle) is required


  • 3 year's ETL development experience in any of standard ETL tools 


  • 3 year's experience in managing global teams is preferred


  • 3 year's experience in project management and high quality delivery execution skills is preferred


  • Experience with health care claims data highly preferred


  • Telecommuters considered but preference given to candidates in the three locations listed.
