RTI Quality Assurance Specialist

On behalf of Research Triangle Institute (RTI), Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking Quality Assurance Specialists to oversee quality control activities for a school-based research study based in New York City. At this time we are seeking Quality Assurance Specialists that reside in the New York City area.

POSITION SUMMARY: This is a temporary hourly position. Quality Assurance Specialists must be available 30 hours per week to observe and provide feedback to interviewers conducting child assessments with 4 and 5 year old children. Quality Assurance Specialists will observe the assessment process and provide remedial training on procedures for which a deviation from protocol was noted. Quality Assurance Specialists will ensure that data collected within their region meets established quality standards as prescribed by the requirements of the project.

Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience performing Quality Control activities. Strong preference for candidates who have experience supervising school-based studies and conducting child assessments..

WORK PERFORMED :
  • Participate in child assessor training program tentatively set for mid-March 2015.
  • Pass certification requirements set forth by the project.
  • Be available to work, on average, 30 hours per week from mid-March through early June 2015.
  • Oversee assessor work assignments to ensure cost-effective field implementation.
  • Provide continuing supervision and support for assessors throughout the data collection period.
  • Verify and validate assessor work to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Provide assistance and direction for assessors on problem cases.
  • Retrain assessors , as necessary.
  • Submit progress reports to RTI on time, and with essential information.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.


Quality Assurance Specialist Requirements:
  • Two years' experience performing Quality Control activities
  • Direct experience with child assessments (preferred)
  • Available to complete project assignment within specified time frame
  • Demonstrated experience with field data collection activities
  • Access to personal automobile or public transportation
  • Knowledge of general principles and procedures of survey research field data collection
  • Effective interpersonal and verbal communications skills
  • Willingness to adhere to all project requirements
  • Ability to interact with a variety of people
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with assessors, supervisor, and other RTI staff
  • Ability to provide feedback to assessors on their performance, noting areas of strength and areas worthy of improvement
  • Willingness to communicate with assessors as necessary to assure they are properly informed of existing and revised procedures
  • Ability to respond accurately, clearly, and promptly to assessor questions, problems, and concerns
  • Willingness to keep supervisor informed of progress and problems
  • Ability to accurately complete project documents, including survey forms and administrative forms
  • Willingness to accept short-term assignments, as necessary.
