Full Time applicants are required to have an open availability Monday - Saturday, between the primary operating hours of 6am–Midnight, unless specified for a position / department. Full time employees are typically scheduled a minimum of 40 hours/week, including evenings and weekends to meet business needs. Our existing stores experience busy sales patterns on the weekends. All hourly employees will earn time and one-half on Sunday.

  • The grand opening of the new Westwood store will be in Fall 2015
  • The Westwood store will operate 6am to Midnight, 7 days per week

  • The Restaurant areas of Wegmans provide customers with Coffee, Pizza, Subs, Sushi, and other Prepared Foods offerings within The Market Cafe. Our Restaurant service employees are empowered to provide an engaging dining experience for all guests, while the Restaurant cooks are responsible for producing high-quality food with the finest ingredients that follow our core recipes.

Customer Service

As a Customer Service Team Member in the Market Café areas, you will work hands on with our product while providing direct interaction with our customers. You will have the opportunity to build relationships with our customers and share knowledgeable service about our restaurant products within Pizza, Coffee, Subs,

Catering, and The Market Café service and dining areas.

Positions of a similar nature may include: clerk, guest service, food production, food runner, dishwasher, busser, kitchen help, barista

As a Cook in the Restaurant areas, you will display your passion for preparing food as well as a desire to develop your culinary skills and talents within the kitchen. Our cooks play an integral role in preparing ingredients and core recipes; merchandising products and ensuring customers are provided with incredible service and access to products throughout the day.

Positions of a similar nature may include: Line Cook, Prep Cook



What abilities must I bring to the table to be considered for Customer Service positions:

In addition to incredible customer service, successful applicants will possess one or more of the following:
  • Experience working as a cook
  • Food preparation experience and knife skills
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality
  • Experience working in a service-oriented position at a multi-faceted food service facility, including restaurant, hotel , country club, conference center, casino, theme park, grocery, or retail setting


Team Leader

As a Team Leader within The Market Café areas (Coffee, Pizza, Subs, Catering), you will be overseeing a smaller department independently with guidance from the Department Manager. All Team Leaders work closely with team members to develop the skills and knowledge needed to provide incredible customer service. You will work to ensure products are available for customers and displays are well merchandised and eye appealing. Team Leaders lead employees by example to complete tasks in the department and best service the needs of customers and the store.

As a Lead Cook (Cook I), you will work closely with the Executive Chefs and Sous Chefs to oversee a culinary area of the store. Lead Cooks are given the opportunity to work hands on developing the food passion and skills of employees, while displaying their expertise in culinary arts by producing great tasting food. You will also ensure the kitchen is operating smoothly and customers are provided with incredible service and meal solutions.

Positions of a similar nature may include: Chef, Tournant, Roundsman, Chef de partie, Station Cook, Garde Manger, Head Chef, Kitchen Manager, Lead Cook, Lead Chef



What abilities must I bring to the table to be considered for Team Leader positions:

In addition to incredible customer service, successful applicants will possess one or more of the following:
  • Managerial/supervisory experience
  • Food preparation experience and knife skills
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality
  • Experience working in a service-oriented position at a multi-faceted food service facility, including restaurant, hotel , country club, conference center, casino, theme park, grocery, or retail setting




Work Environment
  • Work Involves continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast paced environment.
  • Typical motions include repetitive hand and arm movements, bending and reaching
  • Responsible for moving and lifting an average of 5-20 pounds, with a maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds rarely.
  • May be exposed to various allergens and work environments including temperature changes
  • Tasks will be performed using and in proximity of coolers, ovens, stoves and other hot equipment; cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Will be required to spend the majority of time on his/her feet and stand or walk without a break for up to 4 hours.
  • In order to maintain a high standard of food safety, Wegmans policy is that when working in Perishable areas a hair restraint must be worn at all times. Also facial ornaments and jewelry must be removed.
