Regional Program Pharmacist - Northeast or Southeast Region of the US - Full-time / Part-time

This position will have responsibility for representing UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Pharmacy management strategies at the regional health-plan level.  You will be the subject matter expert for all relevant pharmacy program related initiatives impacting the assigned region and will be the primary liaison between UHC Pharmacy and the regional health plans on pharmacy affordability.

This is a telecommuting role located within a reasonable daily commute to any UnitedHealth Group office in the Northeastern or Southeastern United States.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide education to regional staff in support of new and existing pharmacy management strategies to facilitate their conversations with stakeholders in the field (e.g. clients, brokers)


• Participate in the portfolio development process in conjunction with the regional and national product teams to support the utilization of optimal pharmacy benefit designs


• Facilitate conversations with regional stakeholders about opportunities to enhance affordability through greater implementation of management programs and/or increased uptake of optimal pharmacy benefit designs


• If regional modifications to pharmacy management strategies are justified, lead the business case development and participate in the operational implementation of the change  


• Work with regional regulatory teams to address objections to Qualified Health Plan filings and support projects stemming from other state regulations that impact UHC pharmacy management strategies


• Support the long-term maintenance and monitor the impact of region and state level changes made as a result of regulatory or competitive demands


• Respond to competitive intelligence on pharmacy strategies utilized by UHC competitors in each market

Required Qualifications:

• Pharmacy degree


• 5+ years' experience in a healthcare related field


• 3+ years' experience in a managed care pharmacy environment


• Experience in reviewing and analyzing pharmacy and medical claims data


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office


• Strong presentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active pharmacist licensure
