As an ESX Systems Administrator, you would work with a variety of individuals that may include business users, internal and external customers, application developers, QA, project leaders and others with a primary focus on large-scale systems, applications, databases and reports leveraging multiple tools, processes, and technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and support of current internal ESX environment


• Handling day to day Windows and ESX VMware server administration functions 


• Supporting Windows and ESX VMware servers across the US


• Provide technical support for applications, infrastructure, database, network and security teams


• Plan and manage assignments of varying scope


• Participate in projects as an SME (Subject Matter Expert)


• Establish new and drive current business processes


• Collaborate with team members to implement strategies to streamline current system processes 


• Conducting customer initiated and audit driven file restores 


• Researching and resolving drive and datastore capacity issues 


• Responding to and completing incident (break/fix) and service request tickets from customers 


• Rotating oncall Priority break/fix issues on Windows or ESX VMware Servers 


• Maintain current documentation or create new documentation as required

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED


• 2+ years' experience with Wintel Server 2003/2008/2012 environments supporting 300+ servers


• 2+ years' experience with HP Server Hardware


• 3+ years' experience working VMWare ESX/VSphere environments


• Experience working within a large team environment


• Provide technical support for applications, infrastructure, database, network and security teams

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree


• ESX Certification


• Experience working in an environment that serviced/monitored 500+ servers


• Experience working with VMWare vCenter Operations


• Experience working with vFoglight monitoring


• Experience with HPSM, HPPM,  Veritas Back Exec/Netbackup


• Experience with SAN attached storage and Boot from SAN


• Backup Software experience with TSM


• Experience with data center migrations


• Experience with merger and acquisition support transitions
