Senior Associate, Statutory Reporting

Discover Products Inc seeks a Senior Associate, Statutory Reporting in Riverwoods, Illinois to coordinate annual audits of U.S and foreign subsidiary financial statements and company benefit plans. Analyze subsidiary general ledger activity and benefit plan custodian statements for completeness and accuracy. Prepare financial statements including any entries required to record accruals. Convert financial statements to foreign generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) including IFRS, Singapore GAAP, Hong Kong GAAP, India GAAP and U.K. GAAP; prepare all necessary disclosures under local GAAP for each entity. Coordinate and provide requested information to auditors. Work with external auditors and various internal groups to solve any issues arisen from the audits. Update financial statements for entity and GAAP changes, utilizing disclosure checklists and discussions with both internal and external business partners. Coordinate the financial statement audits for employee benefit plans, including 401k, pension, and retiree welfare benefits plan. Participate in aspects of quarterly/Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings for the consolidated entity, including: coordinating the completion of and/or drafting managements discussion and analysis sections, footnote disclosures and other required disclosures, including workpaper compilation and tie-out. Assist the SEC reporting team in preparing the 10Q and 10K at each quarter/year end, including tie-out financial statements, drafting note disclosures, and performing XBRL review. Utilize various applications and tools to extract financial data for reporting purpose, such as HFM, Essbase, Microgen, and Enterprise P&L tool. Prepare materials for review meetings of various levels of management, including materials for the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. Review financial information included in external presentations to investors, and rating agencies. Keep up to date on new U.S. and local GAAP and SEC reporting requirements and incorporate into reporting as appropriate. Reconcile and code invoices from external auditors by using Ariba. Track audit expenses and G/L recording to ensure compliance with the SEC rules and the companys policy.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field, or foreign equivalent and three (3) years of experience in job offered or related occupation preparing financial statements audits for multinational corporation, including planning, implementation and reporting for subsidiaries and employee benefit plans; coordinating various teams supporting the audits including tax, actuaries, legal and human resources; completing complex accounting research in accordance with various sets of accounting principles such as US GAAP and IFRS; preparing detailed research memos for use by management; coordinating audits with management and audit teams in international locations; and preparing and filing of SEC Forms 10-K and 10-Q.
