PPG has recently completed the acquisition of the AkzoNobel North American Architectural Coatings business. This acquisition provides our newly combined Trade organization a tremendous platform for profitable growth. This acquisition enables us to now operate in 900 retail stores, sell through over 5,000 dealer stores and supply product to large home improvement retailers, such as Lowe's and Home Depot. This acquisition also brings a portfolio of well established brands to PPG such as Glidden, Glidden Professional, Ralph Lauren Paint, Devoe Coatings and Martha Stewart Living paints; Flood, Sikkens and Synteko woodcare products; plus Liquid Nails adhesives and caulks.

PPG Architectural Coatings is seeking a talented individual for a Assistant Channel Manager-The Home Depot position located in Cranberry Twp. PA.

The assistant channel marketing manager is focused on market and channel support in areas of data,analysis, and insight that guides decisions, actions, and development and execution of marketing plans to deliver upon PPG and Customer goals. The role will work closely with the Channel Marketing Managers and Brand Managers to ensure retailer/channel plans are within the guidelines of the brand and meets the needs of the shopper.

Key Responibilities Include:
• Actionable Insight: Gather, analyze and provide market, customer and competitive information/insight to the Customer channel marketing team to help guide the development and successful execution of the channel marketing plans as measured by sales, volume, margin and brand health.
• Portfolio Management: Provide channel, end user and competitive information to support the identification of promotional, innovation, and portfolio product opportunties. Contribute information
and analysis, and participate in the creation of new product concepts for testing as well as
potential rationalization plans. Manage third party testing to ensure product certification
requirements are met.
• Activation: Support and participate in in-store and on-line channel activation through channel
and end user understanding. Work with sales, cross functional teams, and agencies to support
the execution of both planned and opportunistic channel marketing programs. Role will analyze
and track programs versus stated goals.
• Communications: Actively support the delivery/execution of the channel marketing plan. Role
works well with agency contacts and is able to contribute to the delivery of meaningful and clear
briefs to ensure needs of the shopper/end user and Customer are met. Work closely with
channel, brand and marketing service teams in the management, design and production of
collateral and point of sale.
• Budget: Know and understand budget parameters including sales, volume, margin and
marketing A&P. Monitor and track spend as well as ROI analysis to ensure effective spend.
Assist in the input of marketing spend in system following SAP/MEA/Internal Order Guidelines.
• Competence Management: Gain full understanding and use of the PPG professional development
tools to further enhance skill set. With agreement of the Channel Marketing Manager, develop plan for continous growth and development.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate must have marketing knowledge, excellent project management skills, and be able to manage multiple projects at one time. This individual is a self-starter and eager to meet the needs of internal and external customers. Excellent communications skills and the ability to work effectively within a complex sales organization and cross functional team environment is required. They must have extensive knowledge of the market place, the ability to think strategically, and strong business acumen.Must have at least 5 years of Marketing experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related technical field are required. An advanced Marketing degree or MBA is a plus .
