The Rating Technician is responsible for providing manual rates to the Sales and Underwriting teams for new business and renewals. This individual will provide initial quotes to ancillary requests within allowable limits. They will analyze health benefit plan characteristics and assess risks around frequency and potential severity of losses to our client base. The Rating Technician will handle electronic manipulation of employer group census into the required tool format as well as run all ATLAS New Business/NBEA rating requests through rating center within 24 hours of receipt.  The Production weekly output is  25 – 30 Medical renewal requests,  15 – 20 Vision renewal requests, and  5 – 10 Ancillary new business requests.  This is a Production environment so the ability to meet deadlines in key.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 3+ years of Data Entry and computer experience.
  • Microsoft Excel experience (being able to create and edit spreadsheets, create formulas, and a basic understanding of macros and pivot tables).
  • Experience working a in Production driven environment.
  • Experience working with a Database Management and query programs (IE MS Access, ATLAS, and Rosetta).
