Our Hospice Clinical Services Manager is responsible for supervising and overseeing a team of clinical staff who provide day to day clinical care for our terminal patients and their families. The Clinical Services Manager is responsible for all medical management activities across the continuum of care as they relate to end of life palliative care. The Hospice Clinical Services Manager is accountable for the overall quality of and efficient delivery of hospice services to all patients enrolled in the hospice program.


 


Responsibilities of the Hospice RN Clinical Services Manager include:



  • Sets team direction and leads the team appropriately which will include team management and staff development

  • Assists with coordination of patient admissions and level of changes, including discharges from hospice

  • Provides guidance to team members

  • Facilitates team meetings and daily stand-up meetings

  • Participates in and/or directs Quality Assurance activities

  • May oversee work activities of other supervisors

  • Forecasting, planning, budgeting and some financial reporting

  • Maintains patient care costs to within budgeted metrics along with guidance from the Executive Director

  • Maintains, reviews and monitors payroll and mileage

  • Follows state and federal regulations/requirements regarding certification and accreditation requirements

  • Proficiency with local coverage determinations/guideline criteria regarding terminal prognosis in all aspects of care

  • Problem solving and handling escalated issues

  • Assists with surveys and requests from regulatory bodies and intermediaries

  • Performs utilization review of continuous care and inpatient levels of care for all patients

  • Assesses hospice services, patient outcomes, family/patient satisfaction, cost of services, length of stay, and operational effectiveness to ensure optimal care delivery

  • Works with the Executive Director to develop a plan for staff retention

  • Supports sales activities and helps develop referral sources by understanding the local hospice environment

  • Participates in on call as required

  • Addresses any problems or challenges experienced by patients/families or referral sources

  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of biohazard materials (as needed)

  • Participating in administrative on call (1 week every 3 weeks, including holidays as scheduled)

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Current and unrestricted RN licensure in state of the hospice

  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Management experience in leading a team

  • Minimum 2 years Hospice experience

  • Successful candidates will be highly organized and possess excellent communication skills

  • Knowledge of MS Office suite including Outlook, PowerPoint and Word

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record systems (EMR)

  • Reliable transportation including valid driver's license and auto insurance

                                                    


Preferred Qualifications:



  • BSN

  • Palliative Care experience

  • Home Health experience

  • Long Term Care experience

  • Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care

  • Budget management experience

  • Marketing experience

  • Experience managing pharmacy costs
