Summary: The Repair and Equipment Technician is responsible for conducting product repair, preventative maintenance on equipment and general building maintenance.

Electronic manufacturing experience is preferred. Skills include the ability to effectively use an oscilloscope to diagnose defects at the component level, and Surface Mount (SMT) component repair using a soldering iron.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides technical support and training to customers regarding proper installation, operation, and troubleshooting of company products (primarily sirens).

Conducts repair of circuit boards (both internal production repairs and Return Material Authorizations – RMA’s) by testing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing PCB component level repair of returned products. This includes repair cost estimates and reports through the database system.

Tracks RMA’s through the database system.

Recommends accessories and replacement parts for products.

Maintains, issues, and tracks status for a product swap or rental.

Advises management of problems with installation or operation of products and industry news that may affect the company.

Completes statistical reports as required (siren repair report and defect data sheet).

Develops a preventative maintenance (PM) program for all manufacturing equipment. Implement the PM program by ensuring maintenance and calibration of machines and equipment.

Troubleshoots, diagnoses (performs root cause analysis), and repairs all malfunctioning production equipment.

Performs all general building maintenance including HVAC systems, general plumbing, electrical, and roof repair as well as any other maintenance needs that might arise.
