Job Description:


The National Director of Optum Health Behavioral Solutions is responsible in leading a diversified team of licensed and non-licensed staff for the purpose of coordinating non-facility based care for consumers and their caregivers. The Care Coordination team assists consumers in connecting with outpatient services, community resources, peer coaches, support groups, medical plan programs, and any other resources that may help consumers stay well and increase community tenure.  The National Director ensures fidelity to established processes and program requirements by using data and reporting to measure productivity and effectiveness. The National Director manages by leading people and must maintain a close working relationship with direct reports.


Responsibilities:




  • Provide direct oversight to a team of 4-5 Care Coordination managers, located at multiple locations across the country including onsite, other office locations, and telecommuting.


  • Monitor and consistently meet departmental quality (HEDIS/NCQA) and performance standards for clinical staff and supervisory staff as well as business standards such as customer specific requirements.


  • Uses data to identify trends, patterns, issues and opportunities that have an impact on the business and utilizes the data to help make sound business decisions/recommendations.


  • Viewed as a credible business leader and inspires staff - facilitates a shared vision and urgency for changes by clarifying how the change will help the organization meet business goals and by articulating the benefits of change.


  • Facilitates cross-functional cooperation and utilizes appropriate resources to ensure timely integrated and effective solutions to business needs.


  • With National VP of Care Coordination, UM Leadership, National Market Leads and HCQAI leadership, ensures that Care Coordination HCQAI goals are supported through functional team activity.


  • With National VP of Care Coordination, UM Leadership, Account Management and Sales leaders consults and creates solutions for customer needs and ensures delivery on customer commitments.


  • With National VP of Care Coordination, UM Leadership, Information Technology and Knowledge Management leaders ensures availability of content and effectiveness of tools available to Care Advocates.


  • With National VP of Care Coordination, UM Leadership, and Network Services leaders, addresses identified network needs and gaps.

 

Requirements

 Requirements:




  • Minimum Master's Degree in a Behavioral Health field


  • Minimum 7 years clinical behavioral experience in broad range of settings.


  • Minimum 5-7 years progressive leadership experience.


  • Minimum 5 years clinical supervisory experience in a behavioral health setting.


  • Possesses an active, independent, and unrestricted behavioral health licensure and certification from the state or board which issued the credentials.


  • Solid proficiency in use MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, Sharepoint, Outlook)


  • Strong, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills


  • Strong leadership characteristics of vision, clarity, and purpose


  • Preferred 2 years managed care or clinical experience with Medicare and Medicaid populations.


  • Preferred knowledge and understanding of HEDIS and NCQA requirements for Managed Behavioral Health Plans (MBHOs)
