Description

Medline Industries, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Industrial Engineer for our SPT Division located in Waukegan, IL. We are seeking a hard-working, detail-oriented professional with experience in industrial engineering and lean manufacturing within Operational disciplines. Responsibilities are to plan, organize and controls as assigned product line from conceptual stages through production cycles to optimize profit and meeting marketing, financial and corporate growth objectives. To investigate current operations practices and scope, develop and implement changes that will improve operational productivity.

· Serve as a resource in supporting ways to increase operational productivity ( I.E. warehouse, manufacturing, reorder buying and production control )

· Manage engineering projects from the conceptual stage through implementation to optimize profit and meet divisional growth objectives.

· Support, promote,and teach the lean manufacturing philosophy by leading Kaizen events and various projects focused on reducing cycle time, inventories and operational costs.

· Manage monthly and weekly divisional operation reporting. Maintain and update manufacturing productivity metrics that tracks output and throughput rates for two manufacturing locations.

· Manage the site 6S program. Developing and maintaining zone ownership and auditing standards.

· Manage and foster the site Simple Kaizen program through department meeting and employee participation incentive program.

· Work cross- functionally and employ mapping techniques where applicable in efforts to identify improvement areas and reduce waste.

· Write, perform and conduct quality protocols for new packaging material. These tests insure that new product meet the strict quality and performance standards set by the division (I.E. burst testing & tensile tests.)

· Gather data from AS400 management systems and determine opportunities for improvement.

· Implementation of our labor management system (LMS) and analyzing data within the system

Qualification

· Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.

· 2-3 years experience in a manufacturing/warehousing setting

· Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel , Access, SQL, Mini Tab and LMS

· AS400 or ERP systems experience required, SAP experience a plus

· Excellent organizational, planning, communication and follow up skills
