Posting Job DescriptionThe Time Warner Cable News and Local Programming Division is looking for a Sr. Digital Content Producer to take a leadership role in helping oversee the direction of TWCNews.com and other Web-based and social media initiatives of Time Warner Cable News across North Carolina. The successful candidate will work in-step with the executive producer and news management to coordinate a thorough and efficient workflow for producing content on multiple digital platforms. Responsibilities include copyediting and publishing online news and feature content, overseeing the day-to-day work of online producers, and assisting in developing strategies for building and maintaining various social media properties.Essential Duties- Manage and prioritize news flow and Internet publication times under direction of news managers, including news directors, executive producers and producers.- Participate in editorial meetings, providing story ideas as well as suggestions for special online content.- Coach and collaborate with reporting staff to take advantage of the presentation of their stories both online and on social media.- Pay attention to web metrics and adjust content to optimize the display of the site to viewer interests.- Take an active role in adapting content effectively for social media and assists in training of news staff in best practices.- I Interact with followers on various social media platforms and grow the audience.- Work collaboratively with the digital management team across the TWC Local News footprint on items including Web development, editorial projects, sales and marketing initiatives, social media and interpreting metrics.- Work with producers and assignment editors to aggressively pursue new, interesting and developing stories and use news judgment to effectively prioritize when and how they are presented across all platforms.- Plan and build special site sections and features that highlight coverage, link platforms and encourage user engagement.- Eagerly assist with the generation, aggregation, management and utilization of user-generated content.- When assigned, work with other departments on initiatives that require content integration.- Apply SEO techniques to increase visibility of content.- Be familiar with video editing, encoding formats, and live streaming.
Daily Responsibilities
- Prepare news and feature stories based on on-air scripts and information provided by the assignment desk, wire services, newspapers, press releases, station archives and footage shot in the field.
- Copyedit on-air scripts, correcting for accuracy, clarity, factual content, grammar and spelling while maintaining editorial standards and reporter ' s personal style.
- Disseminate digital content plan to news staff following editorial meetings and works with digital content producers to ensure it is followed and adapted for items appearing on multiple platforms.
- Adjust appearance and placement of content based on real-time analytics including website traffic and social media insights.

- Ensure recirculation by accompanying high-traffic content with relevant links.
- Produce special editorial content and expanded sections on an as-needed basis.
- Maintain highest degree of quality and ethical standards in presentation of material.
- Read local newspapers, news blogs, and news websites to remain current with local, regional and national news.
- Operate a suite of software that includes the Dalet newsroom management system, web content management system, and computer-based video encoding and image capture applications.
Requirements
- Ability to work well collaboratively and communicate effectively with editorial, technical, creative and administrative personnel.
- Strong writing and editing skills are essential.
- Must be technically savvy, and have excellent computer skills and internet search techniques.
- Knowledge of best practices on professional journalism social media accounts.
- Has a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Photoshop, web scripting, and FTP.

- Must be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and in a deadline driven environment.
- Must show strong news judgment and play an active role in news gathering
- Organizational skills are essential to success.
- This position is full-time and may require you to work shifts that include holidays, nights and/or weekends.
- Is eager to react quickly to breaking news/severe weather and make common sense decisions under the pressure to tell the story.
- Must be a self-starter and able to form personal profession goals that are in line with the strategy of the supported platforms.
- Candidate will maintain a positive work atmosphere that strengthens the team.
- Responds attentively to viewer emails regarding content and technical questions.
- Strong organization skills are a must.
- Will perform other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
- B.A. Degree in Communications, Journalism, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two years online media publication or production writing desired.
