Fleet Mechanic III

The position is based out of the Sacramento, CA branch
This position pays $23.24 per hour
The schedule for this position varies from Tuesday to Saturday. Tuesday to Friday starting at 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Saturday starting at 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Must be able to work weekends, overtime and holidays as needed

The Fleet Mechanic will perform scheduledpreventative maintenance and necessary repairs to automobiles, trucks (lightand heavy), trailers, vans, forklifts and material handling equipment, asdirected by the Fleet Manager and Lead Technician. This individual mayalso disassemble and overhaul engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends andelectrical systems.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and repair fleet equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
  2. Diagnose vehicle failures and disassemble, repair and reassemble parts as necessary.
  3. Adhere to OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory compliance standards.
  4. Respond to service calls.
  5. Complete all necessary documents, including vehicle records.
  6. Maintain cleanliness in areas of work and tools.
  7. Record all work in an electronic web based database
  8. Pick up and deliver vehicles.
  9. Manage ordering and inventory of parts.
  10. Perform assigned duties in a safe and productive manner.
  11. Follow the direction of Fleet Supervisor/Manager and Lead Technician.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Possess general computer skills
  • 3 years mechanic experience or equivalent training / education—must be a Class A qualified technician and able to work on all types of vehicles and material handling equipment
  • Valid drivers license (Class A CDL required - Must get with 90 days of employment)
  • Lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly
  • Pass a drug test, criminal background, verifiable employment verification, social security, and motor vehicle record check
