We are seeking an Electrician. This is a Direct Hire Position located NW on Beltway 8.

Pay: (Depending on experience.)
Hours: Rotating shifts

Job Purpose :

(1) Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.

(2) Work with efficiency and compliance, following safety rules and regulations for self and coworkers.

(3) Assure compliance with company and industry rules, general orders, and instructions.

Essential Job Functions :

(1) Trouble shoot, inspect, maintain and repair all plant electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic machinery and equipment

(2) Skillfully use standard and precision tools, gauges, test equipment, and soldering, welding, burning, or brazing equipment

(3) Operate lathes, drill press, grinder or other hand tools to repair parts or fabricate replacement parts

(4) Practice safe work habits

Job Qualifications:

Requires 2 years practical experience and training; experience acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. Read and understand schematic diagrams.

Install, maintain, and repair process controllers, indicators, and recorders or water, oil, air, heat, cool, press, flow, motion, etc.

Install, maintain, and repair plant and process heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting and water towers

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment such as motors, transformers, switches, relays, contactors, wiring and other electrical apparatus necessary for plant operation

Install, maintain, and repair plant service equipment such as air compressors, dryers, filters, valves, hydraulics systems, pumps, and other apparatus necessary for proper plant operation

Maintain computer operated machinery

Operate sitting and standing lift truck and Aisle Stacker

Enter work orders and parts data into computer via bar code scanner and manual data keyboard entry

Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install conduit as necessary

Operate hand, power, and pneumatic tools, soldering, welding, burning, or brazing equipment, and a lathe, drill press, and grinder

(4) Teamwork

Must be able to work in a team environment; which requires cooperating with others, offering help when needed, and maintaining positive working relationships with coworkers and supervisors

(5) Problem solving skills (trouble shooting)

Inspect circuits and wiring for conformance with the N.E.C., Houston Building Codes and plant safety regulations

Must be able to inspect, analyze and trace problems on instruments and electrical equipment in or out of on-line machinery to maintain safe and proper operation

Must be able to anticipate, evaluate, and consider the consequences of various actions

(6) Vision and hearing

Must be able to read digital screens, and meters, and trace electrical problems by sight. Have color discrimination/depth perception necessary to operate all tools and equipment. Wear eye protection. Recognize sounds of moving equipment and machinery for safety purposes and trace electrical problems by sound. Work with constant noise at a level requiring the use of hearing protection.

(8) Perform Physical Activities

Must be able to exert muscular strength sufficient to occasionally push/pull 125 lbs. and lift/carry 70 lbs. to a 53 inch level; remain standing/walking constantly with the opportunity to change positions; frequently climb stairs to maintain and repair plant machinery; occasionally climb vertical ladders over 60 feet; occasionally crawl, balance, work at heights on structural instances or articulating manlifts which requires the use of a safety harness.

Work Conditions :

(1) Physical environment

Work is constantly performed indoors and outdoors on concrete or asphalt floors involving extreme temperatures, safety shoes are required; safety harness is required when working at unprotected heights; work is under noise level requiring the use of earplugs, equipment or tools may produce vibration.

(2) Job schedule environment

Must be willing to work all work shifts

(3) Safety environment - Must be willing to perform job functions following set safety procedures.

(4) Must be certified in LOTO (lock out/tag out) procedures
