The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a candidate for our Technology and Network Operations Center. Position Summary
The Enterprise Application NOC provides network surveillance and tier 1 break-fix functionality for voice, systems/applications, and TWC WiFi. This includes alarm correlation, alarm handling, trouble identification, event detection and logging, event filtering and trouble correlation.

Essential Job Functions:

- The NOC is a 24/7/365 operation. Employees must be flexible willing and able to work rotating and/or non-standard work shifts, including evenings, overnight, weekends and holidays.

- Quickly identify and analyze network events from NMS.

- Troubleshoot and evaluate problems. Recommend the best solutions while escalating to next tier support and above, according to NOC procedures.

- Follow through and assist in troubleshooting after escalating to next tier staff.

- Respond to incidents and activities. This includes, supporting SLA commitments between Network Operations and Customers (internal and external).

- Work independently with little supervision while providing clear documentation of activities, including customer, management, and reporting oriented information as well as detailed technical information.

- Understand and respond properly to escalation procedures.

- Inform management in a clear, concise, and timely manner of any customer or technical issues.

- Satisfactorily complete and maintain quarterly internal training and certification standards.

- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while exhibiting a personable, polite and patient behavior at all times.

- Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident.

Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:


- Demonstrates excellence and an attention to detail in written and oral communications (grammatical, spelling, facts, layout/style, professionalism)

- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills

- Prior experience with oversight/tracking of restoration and resolution activities within a multi-tiered support organization

- Proven ability to track multiple resources working on multiple, concurrent incidents/problems

- Proven ability to manage multiple incidents/problems across varying timelines

- Proven ability to effectively troubleshoot and isolate issues

- Proven, well-rounded diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

- Sufficient knowledge of the processes and procedures utilized in the course of day to day activities (i.e., Event, Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management)

- Established interpersonal skills, telephony skills, and typing skills

- Extensive, well-rounded technical knowledge of cable and telecommunications networks

- Working knowledge of voice communications, including local and long distance traffic flows for both switched and dedicated access.

- Working knowledge of VoIP communications and networks including IP network understanding and VOIP Protocols

- Utilize the OSI model as a guide for systematic network troubleshooting

- Understand IP protocols (like http, RTP, FTP, SIP, RTCP) and routing protocols (IGRP, BGP, OSPF)

- Knowledge of various OS including Unix/Solaris/Linux, Windows server, and applications (Cisco, VERITAS, backup, IMAP/LDAP, Oracle, Net

- Hands on experience (telnet, ssh, ping, traceroute, etc.)

- Basic understanding of DNS

- Basis understanding of LAN/WAN networks

- CCNA or equivalent experience preferred

- Working knowledge of HFC network architecture preferred

- Network/NOC experience in a centralized repair/troubleshooting/testing environment that included answering telephones, logging events in a ticketing system, and providing technical support and repair coordination

- Ability to work under pressure and within a fast-paced environment

- Ability to work independently as well as function successfully within a team

- Must be willing to work in an entrepreneurial environment requiring broad experience, adaptability, quick learning and excellent problem solving skills

- Assertive to drive issues as appropriate through to resolution, while maintaining professionalism in all communications with both internal and external

- Solid multi-tasking and detail orientation skills

- Must have mature judgment and the ability to relate well with others

- Experience with ticketing systems (Remedy preferred)

- Experience with network monitoring systems (Netcool and/or Big Brother)

- Strong computer skills - including solid working knowledge of Windows-based applications

- Must be able to manage heavy workloads and high levels of activity and stress

- Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including resources, priorities, and timelines

Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
No Supervisory responsibilities with this position.
