Position Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
1. Sands, masks, clean, primes and generally prepares cars prior to painting
2. Reassembles chrome, trim, and accessories after the painting process is complete
3. Performs assigned task in a prompt, efficient manner; strive to improve efficiency in the work area and the overall operation in the paint department
4. Ensures all prep products and/or materials are labeled and are used only for their intended purpose
5. Reads and understands the repair estimate and work order from beginning to end
6. Visually inspects every vehicle to ensure that all body repairs listed are complete, paying special attention to any special promises that may be noted on the work order. Notify the team leader immediately of any discrepancies.
7. Notify the team leader immediately of any hidden or missed damage that doesn’t appear on the work order
8. Remain conscious of the priority delivery list of vehicles and the promised dates listed on the work orders
9. Be alert to any safety hazards and report them immediately to the team leader
10. Keep work areas neat and clean at all times
11. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
12. Maintains a polite, courteous attitude when in contact with a customer, guest, or co-worker
13. Understands and complies with OSHA Right-to-Know and other federal, state, and local regulations.
14. Ensures the dealership meets or exceeds the manufacturer’s national average for customer satisfaction
15. Protects confidential customer information by adhering to company compliance policies
16. Complete required company and manufacturer training
17. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to review and understand the written repair estimate and work order
- Product knowledge of paint prep products and their proper application
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
