Title: Manufacturing Engineer

  • Location: White Plains, NY
  • Terms: 6 months Contract to Hire (they are looking for the person to be on their team long term)
  • Pay: 60,000-70,000

Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer will Plan, direct and coordinate manufacturing processes in the factory. Uses engineering principals to provide efficient solutions to the development of functional products and processes. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

- Facilitate continued improvement of production equipment and tooling.
- Assure products can be produced reliably and will perform consistently with specified operating environments.
- Analyze, plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment for maximum efficiency
- Confer with Management, Production and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other relevant considerations to smooth the progress of production processes.
- Prepare & maintain standard specifications and drawing for all existing and future manufactured products.
- Study and analyze third party blue prints and technical drawings as required.
- Develop capital solutions to provide efficient processing of products and increased automation and reduction of labor.
- Initiate project RFQ's with supporting documentation.
- Quote/negotiate pricing and timing from vendors on equipment and tooling.
- Assist marketing in the development of components designed for manufacturing.
- Assist in the development of RFQ's for capital projects and project proposals.
- Assist in the selection of appropriate materials for products.
- Utilize research, analytical, conceptual, creative and planning skills including mathematical modeling & CAD.
- Perform IQ , OQ & PQ as required.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skilled in windows applications (e.g. Excel, Word, Access, Project, Power Point etc.)
  • Possess leadership experience, organization and communication skills.
  • Must be hands on and willing to learn machines & processes.
  • Must be able to maintain confidential information
