Overview:

Function as a senior level marketing professional with the primary responsibility to provide implementation of Category Management and other advanced marketing initiatives within a designated department to include: Grocery, Non-Grocery, Perishable and/or HBC for an entire region, specific principal, or specific customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct the activities of a major line or group of lines as it relates to all category development and Marketing initiatives for a given branch or region.
  • Represent the Marketing Department in new principal interviews or business reviews by being able to present the capabilities of the entire department. Work under the direction of senior Marketing management.
  • Analyze complex data sets and integrate all sales technology tools in order to create Marketing presentations for principals represented by Acosta across the region.
  • Establish a leadership position with the Category Managers at all key customers in the market and assist them in their category management process.
  • Coordinate efforts with the local branch Category Analysts to manage the completion of all base presentations in order to meet the time frames and needs of each local office within the region.
  • Create all major Marketing presentations within designated department(s) including account and principal business reviews, new item introductions, category reviews, new principal reviews, etc. for use within the region.
  • Initiate and participate with Business Managers and principals in the design, implementation and evaluation of local Marketing events.
  • Integrate Spectra demographics information into all reviews and/or presentations where applicable.
  • Utilize and understand IRI and ACNielsen syndicated scanning data and systems used to generate the information for category reviews.
  • Routinely visit customers in the market with Business Managers. Assist in conducting store audits to view merchandising and inventory requirements in assigned categories.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 4-6 years experience in marketing, sales and/or comparable background from industry sources.
  • Must have prior work experience in data analysis and systems and demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of the technology involved to operate and maintain these systems.
  • Must have a high degree of proficiency in Windows, and related software applications including spreadsheets, word processing, graphics, e-mail, fax, database management, ACNielsen Workstation, NITRO and IRI Data Server.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others.
  • Must be able to operate a calculator, computer, printer, fax machine, telephone and copy machine.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
