The Aircraft Mechanic (PP) is responsible to the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor/Lead for Intermediate and/or Organizational/Flight Line Level Maintenance in support of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance required to maintain assigned aircraft/aircraft systems, components and support equipment. The Aircraft Mechanic (PP) will be required to review and interpret field-related blueprints, schematics, customer technical orders, quality assurance standard practices, maintenance instructions, military specifications, quality procedures local (QPL) etc., and must be capable of interpreting and complying with all Department Of Defense (DOD), Company and Manufacturer directives/policies as may be required and directed by management. The Aircraft Mechanic shall be familiar with the COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series instructions. The Aircraft Mechanic shall perform aircraft special/scheduled inspections, e.g., washes, 150 hour inspections, etc.

The Aircraft Mechanic (PP) is responsible for the self-directed adherence to the Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, policies and mandated Quality Assurance, Security, Explosive Safety, and other applicable Navy/Air Force and Company Program requirements. The Aircraft Mechanic (PP) must be capable of performing and accepting responsibilities of a LEAD position and assumption of duties as a Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) or Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) as directed by management. The Aircraft Mechanic must be able to qualify and perform the duties of a Plane Captain.

F5 Experience Preferred

The Aircraft Mechanic ( Power Plants) must meet the following prerequisites:
1. Must possess superior qualities of personal integrity, maturity, judgment and aptitude that facilitates the accomplishment of assigned work functions and cultivation of a quality work environment. Must be able to read and write the English language. Must be capable of effectively communicating both verbally and in writing.
2. Must be capable of providing training in your specialty/qualification/certifications to other employees.
3. Will be required to perform a variety of "critical maintenance tasks" applicable to your specialty/qualification/certifications such as but not limited to:

a. Engine removal/installation
b. Fuel system operation/troubleshooting
c. Aircraft engine operational systems
d. Avionics/electrical systems operational checks, troubleshooting and repair
e. RADAR/COMNAV troubleshooting and repair
f. Wiring and connector repair, to include 2M certification when required
g. Aircraft structural repair
h. Flight control rigging
i. Support equipment calibration and repair
j. Phase maintenance
k. Hydraulic/pneudraulic landing gear systems
l. Corrosion prevention/detection and aircraft/ support equipment painting
m. Component and equipment preservation/depreservation
n. Ordnance handling and safety qualifications/certifications
o. Egress and environmental system
p. Flight equipment
q. Armament system maintenance

4. Be capable of obtaining and maintaining aircraft high power/low power turn-up qualifications.
5. Be capable of obtaining and maintaining all qualifications/certifications in your classification/specialty and cross train into other areas within your realm of expertise.
6. Be capable of obtaining and maintaining Support Equipment (SE) Licenses for required equipment.
7. Required to read and interpret blueprints, Technical Orders (T.O.), NAVAIR publications and planning documents as well as use schematic drawings, diagrams and charts to trace and analyze systems.
8. Be capable of working overtime and any assigned shift.
9. Be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
10. Comply with and participate in the FOD Program.
11. Ensure strict compliance with the Tool Control Program.
12. Perform off-site related duties to include detachments when directed.
13. Will be required to operate NALCOMIS terminal and document work performed on appropriate/applicable forms and records.
14. Required to set up a variety of "in shop" and hangar peculiar test equipment, common and special tool/equipment and measuring devices such as: micrometers, calipers, scales, protractors, optical micrometers, clinometers, torque wrenches, borescope devices, flashlights, mirrors, precision measuring equipment, etc., required to correctly diagnosis aircraft system malfunctions.
15. Responsible for the proper use and operation of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
16. Knowledgeable in the application of requisitioning and turn-in of components, and the proper packaging of components prior to turn-in.
17. Utilize the Computerized Self Evaluation Checklist (CSEC) as an auditing and reporting tool.
18. Review and provide input for quality deficiency reports, engineering/safety investigations, aircraft discrepancy reports, aircraft technical deficiency reports and hazardous material reports.
19. Will be required to conduct receiving, in-process and final inspections of equipment and work processes.
20. Will attend meetings and conferences as required and directed by management.
21. Perform other duties and Collateral Duty assignments as assigned and directed by managemen
