About this job

Position Description: Deliver vendor tooling investment in line with product program targets. Work cross functionally with Tier 1, Tool Shops, Purchasing, Ford Engineering to understand part requirements, tool line ups, and cost drivers. Assess Tier 1 manufacturing processes and tool line up to ensure value for money Expand relationships with tool shops to drive competitive quoting Negotiate with Tier 1 and/or Tool Supplier and drive optimal costs Focus on multiple commodities and associated tooling Skills Required: Working knowledge of plastic and metal tooling and associated processes (Injection Mold, Stamping, Blow Mold, Compression Mold, etc.) including secondary operation tools (welding, assembly operations, cutting/trimming equipment, punch operations, etc.) Self-starter who can operate independently with minimal guidance and organize/maintain multiple assignments on multiple commodities across multiple programs Must have strong leadership skills and the ability to interface cross functionally to accomplish objectives Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, MS Project, Outlook Ability to interface with all levels of the organization, both internal to Ford, and externally with supply base. Experience Required:

Must have experience in automotive tooling supply chain fundamental understanding of relationship between OEM, Tier 1, and Tool Supplier.

Experience Preferred: Experience with an OEM, Tier 1 Supplier or Tool Shop Purchasing or Cost Estimating experience
