Overview:

Serve as immediate supervisor for Senior Sales Support Supervisors and Administration Supervisors for the branch. Oversee the Office Managers and Office Supervisors in the Region. Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Sales Support department.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working with Senior Sales Support Supervisors in hiring, training, and developing all Sales Support Associates.
  • Responsible for training, developing, supervising and evaluating the Sales Support Supervisors and assigned teams of Sales Support staff within the Hub location.
  • Assist Regional Director of Sales Support, General Managers and/or Branch Managers in the hiring, training, developing, supervising, and evaluating of all Senior and Sales Support Supervisors for the region.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the sales function for the region.
  • Make all salary and bonus recommendations for Senior Sales Support Supervisors, Sales Support Supervisors, and Sales Support staff within the Hub location.
  • Review all salary recommendations from Sales Support Supervisors and make final salary recommendations to General Managers and Branch Managers.
  • Oversee all Sales Support responsibilities for the region. Assign Sales Support responsibilities for the branch.
  • Review and approve all sales responsibilities for satellite offices.
  • Perform desk evaluations for the Senior Sales Support Supervisors and Sales Support Supervisors on a periodic basis to ensure all Sales Support functions are up-to-date and are being performed accurately and efficiently.
  • Review the Manufacturer Deduction Status Monthly Recap forms for the region.
  • Work with Senior Sales Support Supervisors, Sales Support Supervisors and Office Managers to ensure we are monitoring Acosta’s top Manufacturers and adhering to our “Over 90 Day” policy within all offices. Any problems should be communicated to the appropriate individuals.
  • Provide copies of the Manufacturer Deduction Status Monthly Recap form to the Regional Director of Sales Support, Regional VP and General Manager.
  • Oversee the Invoice and Commission Reconciliation process for the branch.
  • Monitor all commission deductions and follow up with the General Manager as needed to ensure timely and accurate payment of all commissions due.
  • Monthly Commission Reports are to be provided to the General Manager and Regional Vice President.
  • Review all desk evaluations with the Sales Support Supervisors to ensure all sales administration functions are up to date and being performed accurately and efficiently. Approve all ratings prior to results of audit being discussed with Sales Support Associates.
  • Sit in on one desk evaluation with each Sales Support Supervisor semi-annually to ensure all Sales Support requirements are being met.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with Senior Sales Support Supervisors, Sales Support Supervisors, and Sales Support Associates to address administration issues.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the Top 20 Manufacturers in the region to ensure efficient management of the lines. Any changes to the current structure should be communicated to the Director of Sales Support.
  • Work with General Managers, Branch Managers, Senior Sales Support Supervisors, Sales Support Supervisors, and Sales Support Associates to address administration issues.
  • Conduct quarterly meetings in each regional office to ensure all Sales Support policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Evaluate the Sales Support required by the various lines represented by the region and make resignation recommendations to the General Manager for labor intensive lines generating low revenues.
  • Participate in new principal interviews and/or major business reviews as needed to address Sales Support issues.
  • Participate in weekly wholesales (sales) meetings to better understand and address Sales Support issues.
  • Oversee the effective utilization of a customized food brokerage software package by all Sales Support Associates.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Becton Schantz software.
  • Responsible for communicating any computer-related limitations or needs to the Regional Director of Sales Support and/or the Sales Support Trainers.
  • Verify all New Account Forms and Account Termination Forms for accuracy prior to mailing.
  • Distribute all monthly food show reports and assist the Jacksonville accounting office by coordinating the billing and collection activities for the branch.
  • Ensure that all principal change of address forms are completed promptly and provided to the Sales Data department and Corporate Accounting in Jacksonville as needed.
  • Assist the Regional Director of Sales Support and the Sales Support Trainers in the development of efficiencies for administrative procedures and develop solutions to sales administration problems.
  • Perform special assignments for the company and/or region as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 years prior food brokerage experience either as a Sales Support Supervisor or Manager is strongly preferred.
  • 2 years prior supervisory experience in sales support with a food manufacturer is required.
  • Must possess proven management experience in supervising a clerical or administrative staff.
