About this job

This Engineer will take existing diagnostic documents and migrate them into DOORS inaccordance with a new OEM global strategy. This is part of the Telematics group responsible for telematics modules. Diagnostics already exist, but this OEM is trying to make the diagnostics (as well as other system requirements) more robust migrating them into the DOORS tool. They will take existing diagnostics and develop questions with the assistance to Lead Engineers on what information needs to be gathered to develop DOORS documents. They will work corss fucntionally with differnet teams to develop these diagnostics. This is part of a very large global strategy that is in the early stages. This has not been done at this OEM before so they need high level expertise to assist.

Automotive Controls Algorithm Engineer 1
General Purpose
Responsible for automotive controls and software development. Work involves innovation, development, execution, and verification of control system requirements, architecture, algorithm and software. Independent judgment is used with minimal supervision.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop and synthesize control feature requirements
* Design control algorithms and software for complex systems
* Create and utilize Matlab models for algorithm definition
* Utilize autocode methodologies for implementation of software design
* Utilize plant models for verification of algorithm and control features
* Perform feature and integration builds of software
* Conduct system-level and unit-level verification and validation testing
* Perform Design Failure Mode and Effects ( DFMEA) and Variation analysis
* Communicates, coordinates, and consults with engineering departments and customers
* Write standardized C+ codes in order to define algorithms
Required Skills/Experience
* Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) - Beginner level
* Knowledge of Lotus Notes or other email communication tool - Intermediate level
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present/work in group settings
* Good verbal communication skills to clearly convey message or project timelines/updates
* Good written communication skills to effectively prepare documents for management review and approval
* Ability to work well in a team environment - 4 years experience
* Strong leadership skills to effectively communication with multiple levels within the organization
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and heavy work loads
* Strong planning skills with the ability to prioritize workload independently
* Strong problem solving capabilities to effectively investigate issue and provide resolution
* Knowledge of Matlab, Simulink and Autocoding - 2-3 years experience
* Ability to write standardized C+ codes to define algorithms - 4 years experience
* Knowledge of control system architecture and design expertise - 2 years experience
* Position related experience in Engineering - 4 years
* Position specific experience in Embedded Controls Algorithm, Software Engineering - 4 years
Required Education/Training/Certifications/Licenses
* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
