General Ledger Accountant

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Accurately prepare and post journal entries.

2. Prepare monthly financial statements and reports according to schedule.

3. Prepare monthly account reconciliation of appropriate Balance Sheet Accounts, and resolve any discrepancies.

4. Maintain Fixed Asset ledger.

5. Reconcile Construction-In-Progress general ledger accounts to Capital Project ledger.

6. Assist in annual budget preparation.

7. Assist with 401(k) / ERP funding and audit processes.

8. Prepare annual audit schedules.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Ability to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision.

2. Ability to determine and maintain confidentiality.

3. Solid understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

4. Good analytical skills.

5. Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.

6. Ability to multi-task and meet scheduled deadlines.

7. Understanding of mainframe and personal computer systems and applications.

8. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

9. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization, as well as external auditors.

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

2. Minimum 3-4 years experience in manufacturing or technical environment.

3. SAP Software Experience a Must
