Application Coordinators (ACs) conduct application processing for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Relief (CDBG-DR) Program for New York City, "NYC Build it Back". In short, the ACs are the "face" of the Build it Back program. ACs fill a critical case management and customer service role as they are the direct point of contact for individuals applying for assistance under the Program. They must be proficient in interviewing, typing, note taking, printing and scanning; all while providing excellent customer service. Specifically, the AC is the central point of contract for applicants when connecting with the Program regarding their application. ACs are responsible for working through their assigned applications. The following details some of the key responsibilities ACs are expected to hold when managing their assigned applications and subsequent applicants: Greet and welcome applicants to the Housing Recovery Center (HRC) Facilitate applicant meetings to collect application data, both verbal and hard-copy in accordance with on boarding and refresher training Input application data into the web-based Microsoft Dynamics Case Management System (CMS) software in accordance with on-boarding and refresher training and ensure that all relevant notes are captured in CMS as it is the file of record Review for relevancy and accuracy any information collected from the applicants - either in person, by phone or email/efax in accordance with on-boarding and refresher training Identify applicants in need of legal and financial counseling in accordance with guidance provided during on-boarding and refresher training Be cognizant of the fact that the nature of this Program and process is a stressful and challenging experience for a number of applicants and ACs are here to serve their needs as they relate to the Program - this will also require additional coordination with other vendors as well as City representatives that are co-located at the HRCs Proactively remain in contact with applicants throughout the application process until grant signing and/or close out to ensure that their application is up to date
