Job Description :
Child Care Teacher
The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing and supervising the daily activities for a group of children. They are responsible to Management and Administrator. They must provide each child with an introduction to, and exploration of, basic Biblical doctrines and values, through the use of age appropriate Christian Curriculum.

Qualifications:
a. Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent as determined by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
b. Prior to assuming the position, they must have a minimum of 80 days working full time in a childcare center, or 120 days working part time.
c. Completed 2 non-credit department-approved courses in early childhood education or its equivalent. Those assigned to the Infant and Toddler room must also have completed aEURœFundamentals of Infant and Toddler CareaEUR.
d. Must obtain a certificate from the Registry within 3 months after assuming the position.
e. Must participate in a minimum of 25 hours of training in Early Childhood Education each year.

General Responsibilities:
a. Responsible for meeting classroom requirements of the rules and regulations as set forth in WI State Regulations DCF 251 and current accreditation guidelines; and understanding specific related responsibilities.
b. Daily health checks of children.
c. Must follow all toileting and hand washing procedures as outlined in center policies.
d. Observe and evaluate each childaEURTMs progress, including conducting parent/teacher conferences twice a year (November and April)
e. Work cooperatively with staff members and parents.
f. Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service trainings.
g. Plan and execute age appropriate lesson plans weekly.
h. Effectively communicate with children and parents.
i. Supervise and participate with children.
j. Enforce safety rules and guidelines.
k. Enforce age appropriate disciplinary actions (no time-outs for any child under the age of two).
l. Handle all accident, emergency and medical documentation.
m. Maintain classroom and bathroom cleanliness, including the following of all State codes regarding such. This includes washing of toys and laundry as needed, as well as counters, tables, floors, and anything else that impacts the environment of the room and the health of the children.
n. Train, coach and develop Assistant Teachers, in an effort to encourage their growth.

Compensation:
Pay is based on experience and education
After 1 year, employee receives 1 week paid vacation
After 2 years, employee receives 2 weeks paid vacation
After 90 days of employment, employee receives holiday pay

Assignment:
Employee will be helping with opening duties, but may be required to help cover other rooms at times depending on teachers being off work or extra students attending school that day.
