Job Title: Assistant District Manager - Merchandising Reports To: District Manager – Merchandising FLSA: Hourly, Non-Exempt Next Level of Management: Regional Director of Merchandising Date Revised: 02/10/2015 SUMMARY: Reporting to the District Manager, this position exists to perform a variety of functions within the Merchandising Field Services Team. Assists and supports the District Manager's daily operations by providing administrative assistance, managing a range of employees from individual merchandisers to groups of teams within the assigned district and ensuring that all personnel in respective district adhere to safety, productivity, quality, customer service standards and all Company policies and procedures. SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Team Leader(s), Project Merchandiser(s) and Merchandiser(s) PERFORMANCE AND / OR EDUCATION PREREQUISITES: High School Diploma, with 2+ years of retail merchandising and supervisory experience required. Store operations and set crew experience a plus. Possess the ability to motivate and work with and through others to achieve desired results. Has a bias for action and continuous improvement. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED: The ability to read, write, and speak English at a high-school level. Thorough understanding of retail merchandising concepts (including Plan-O-Gram experience). Possess organizational, problem-solving, verbal & written skills. Have the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external personnel (vendors, brokers, & retailers). Must possess the ability to prioritize and meet established deadlines, and when necessary, work additional hours to meet those set deadlines. Ability to manage own workload and multi-task under limited supervision. Self-motivation and initiative in developing new/improved methods of accomplishing tasks. Computer literate with ability to navigate in various software programs including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat. Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to multiple store locations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Computer literate with daily internet access and ability to access company issued email
  2. Assists District Manager in daily operations, including but not limited to, the preparation of upcoming Homestore and project work, training, follow-ups, survey work and payroll including daily audits and exception reports
  3. Trains and develops a Team Leader to perform all responsibilities of an Assistant District Manager during Assistant District Manager's absence
  4. Assists in maintaining the Company's relationship with the customer by providing consistent, positive and professional presence throughout assigned district
  5. Assists the District Manager in motivating the district's staff to meet individual and team performance objectives
  6. Adheres to all deadlines as assigned by the District Manager and/or other upper management
  7. Conducts store visits, Quality Assurance Surveys and/or follows up at the District Manager's discretion
  8. Schedules and deploys assigned staff for various projects
  9. Create and maintain project tracking and status reports
  10. Acts on behalf of the District Manager during the District Manager's absence including, but not limited to, vacations, meetings, training sets, and other designated times as required by the District Manager
  11. Assists with the on-boarding of new employees as per the District Manager's discretion
  12. Communicates any issues and follows up with the District Manager on a timely basis
  13. In-Store Field Services Requirements:?
    1. Pre-calls and schedules stores
    2. Organizes and distributes planograms as needed
    3. Executes profile and/or re-profile categories
    4. Tagging/Labeling items
    5. Sorts and distributes merchandise to various locations throughout store
    6. Installs security fixtures
    7. Ensures that work area is clean and safe
  14. Additional Requirements:
    1. Ability to make decisions about proper safety
    2. Ability and willingness to be exposed to heights while on ladders
    3. Ability to complete appropriate paperwork and online data entry
    4. Ability to manage the appropriate number of hours used to obtain goal objectives ensures that all payroll hours and all other necessary information is entered into the automated payroll system daily, per company policy.
