POSITION PURPOSE -

The Global Commodity Leader supports the sourcing of Marketing services with a concentration on paper and printing categories. The associate will support the Purchasing and Marketing teams on various sourcing and supplier related initiatives. The role also manages various third-party corporate support functions (e.g. mail, managed print, copy center). This position requires experience in conducting analytics and building strong partnerships. Experience managing suppliers and implementing sourcing strategies is preferred.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
  • 20% Analytical support for sourcing strategies, including total cost of ownership analysis, supplier spend analysis and commodity management
  • 20% Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to assigned categories. Work cross functionally to improve and streamline processes.
  • 20% Develop commodity strategies. Work with the stores and functional areas to best determine products and services to be sourced. Manage the vendor and resolve issues regarding product quality, delivery, etc.
  • 10% Source qualified vendors who can meet purchase needs in terms of product quality, quantity and delivery date.
  • 10% Ad hoc inquiries and cross-functional projects
  • 20% Administrative and data quality initiatives such as inputting data into sourcing systems (e.g. Ariba) and conducting monthly/quarterly commodity reviews.

NATURE AND SCOPE -

  • This position reports to the Sr. Manager - Procurement
  • No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS-

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must pass the Drug Test.
  • Must pass Background Check.
  • Must pass pre-employment test if applicable.

EDUCATION REQUIRED -

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
