Production / Scrap Burner - Full-time / Part-time

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY :The scrap burner is responsible for operating an oxygen / natural gas torch to cut pieces of scrap to a specified specification. This job is to be completed on a production basis per the site work instruction. Location: Cofield, North Carolina Pay:$10 an hour Long term position ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *Clocks in and out of Time and Attendance, jobs etc. *Handles a 60" oxygen/natural gas torch. *Cleans the torch cutting tip with provided tool, and switches tip for a new when necessary. *Cuts product to specific sizing specifications. *Follows instructions. *Complete Daily Paperwork including but not limited to a preshift inspection. *Cross-trains in other areas/departments as needed. *Attends, participates and conducts pre-shift and weekly safety meetings. *Follows all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements; encourages action assuring safe behavior; confronts unsafe behavior and conditions proactively and positively. *Reads, analyzes, understands and demonstrates knowledge of work instructions, In-Process Inspection Check Lists, etc. *Conducts himself/herself in a considerate, professional, cooperative and helpful manner toward fellow employees, customers, vendors and visitors. *Complies with all policies and procedures including Attendance, Code of Conduct, Dress Code, Behavior, etc. EQUIPMENT USED: *60" Victor blow torch. *Hose clamps, crimpers, company approved knives, tape, tip cleaners, natural gas & Oxygen hose. 1.Mental Activity Requirements of the Position: Measure scrap to cut Completing pre/post shift inspections of equipment. 2.Physical Activity of the Position: Includes but is not limited to: Walking and standing for long periods of time, reaching, pulling, Kneeling and lifting regularly This job has repetitive motions 3.Physical Requirements of the Position: Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. 4.Visual Acuity Requirements of the Position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity for reading, visual inspection involving small defects, using measurement devices, assembly or fabrication; etch where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned, inspect work, etc. 5.Conditions the Employee will be Subject to in this Position: The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than ten hours. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity. Subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current or exposure to chemicals. The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin; fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: *Prior manufacturing experience *Operate oxygen/acetylene torch *Uses rule, scale, protractor, straight edge, plumbline, gauge, power grinding and chipping tools and other hand tools as needed.
