Southwest Medical Associates (SMA) is a multi-specialty group of physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, consisting of over 200 providers, fourteen clinical locations including nine health care centers, five urgent care clinics and an outpatient surgery center. SMA offers patients compassion, innovation, and quality care throughout southern Nevada. SMA is headquartered in the greater Las Vegas, NV area.


 


This M.A. will be used to directly support the Previsit Team on a daily basis to support the clinic with intervention for direct patient care that requires clinical knowledge. This M.A. will be responsible for collecting all the pre-visit/HEDIS/STAR information on over 450 patients per month that come to the SES PCPs. This M.A will call 200+ patients per week who are deficient in their condition management goals to schedule ancillary appointments aimed to bridge those gaps. This M.A. needs to provide excellent customer service and help identify opportunities with patients that allow us to adhere to, and improve our quality measures/star measures for patient care.


 


The Medical Assistants are responsible for completing previsit documentation and conducting multiple preventive tests (i.e. EKGs, ABIs, DPNs, spirometry, bone-mineral density, multiple risk factor screenings, place lab orders, update medications, etc.) prior to each exam. They assist with prepping charts for exams, outreach and scheduling for patients, personal reminder calls, and general management of tasks for follow-up issues.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • High school education or equivalent experience

  • MA certification

  • CPR-in hand or to be acquired after employment

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bilingual Spanish 

  • Patient-Centric
