About this job

The Security Technician Supervisor is responsible for the tasks associated with the design, installation, upgrade and repair of home security systems. The Security Technican Supervisor will use communication, technical knowledge, problem solving and sales skills to deliver the highest level of customer service. Security Technican Supervisor will coach less-experienced technicians, provide troubleshooting support on the job and assist with routing, training, escalations, etc. as needed.

· Provide technical leadership and coaching to less-experienced technicians through training, hands-on demonstrations, on-the-job troubleshooting, etc.

· The Security Technican Supervisor will be responsible for…

o Inventory audits for the techs

o Tool Audits for the techs

o CAT Scheduler for their techs.

o Running parts out to their techs in escalation situations

o QA/QC audits on their techs.

· Review, anticipate and prepare for each job (tools, equipment, materials, etc.) based on work order details

· Pre-call customer to verify appointment and confirm customer receipt of equipment

· Conduct customer premise survey, make recommendations on equipment placement, up-sell for complete protection, process work order modifications and manage schedule impacts

· Perform new system installations, upgrades and takeovers

· Perform system replacements, repairs and disconnects

· Perform signal verification, system testing and troubleshooting

· Assist customer with downloads and device configurations as needed

· Educate and train customer on system operation and functionality

· Complete installation checklists and capture customer signatures as required

· Conduct personal safety check and adheres to established safety standards, guidelines and directives

· Replenish and reconcile truck stock inventory, materials, tools and equipment

· Return defective and excess equipment through RMA process

· Obtain permits when required

· Self-monitor performance through scorecard reports

· Maintain punctual, regular and consistent attendance

Other Duties:

· Attend classroom and field training as required

· Work on special projects as needed

· Mentor new employees as needed

· Attend all scheduled tech meetings

· Cross-train on additional services to meet customer demand

· Acknowledge, implement, and enforce all MasTec AT and Partner policies and procedures.

· Positively represent MasTec Advanced Technologies and Partner to customers with consistent professionalism, adhering to dress code

· Work 6-day workweeks as requested to meet business needs

· Submit accurate and timely documentation to your immediate supervisor

· Some travel may be required

· Supervisory support may include hiring technicians and assisting with new market launch activities

· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills

· Licensed per state and local requirements for Home Security and Fire Alarm (as required)

· Must successfully pass criminal background check and pre-employment motor vehicle and drug screen; valid state driver’s license

· Able to perform installation of concealed devices and wiring

· Working knowledge of equipment application, compatibility, mounting techniques, and testing

· Able to read diagrams and blueprints

· Basic understanding of local and national codes

· Computer literate; strong networking experience preferred

· Experience selling equipment and service upgrades

· Ability to work independently

· Ability to remain focused and effectively multi-task within a fast-paced & dynamic environment

· Ability to troubleshoot and conduct diagnostics to successfully problem solve under pressure

· Motivated team player with positive attitude and desire to learn and deliver high-quality work

· Strong customer service skills and genuine desire to interact with customers; professional appearance

Education



High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical school training is a plus.

Experience



Prefer a minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing security & alarm installations and Service. Prior dispatch, training or supervisory experience, a plus.
