Position Summary:

Provides leadership driving all stores related category strategies and contract negotiations.

Managed categories include construction, fixtures, facilities maintenance, lighting, flooring, capital projects, operational supplies and real estate.

Perform end to end category management functions including analyzing third party spend, sourcing, and performing market analysis identifying opportunities enabling business partner category strategies while ensuring implementation of quality business solutions and cost optimization.

Develops relationships and provides leadership influencing strategic category direction to executive management and cross functional teams performing RFx activities including supporting business requirement definition.

Provides guidance and ensures adherence to procurement processes and policy compliance across the enterprise.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Be the central point of expertise and knowledge for commercial aspects of category

  • Develop and consistently execute category strategies

  • Analyze category markets and assess risk, gathering intelligence on fundamental conditions and technical information that affects the commodity. Develop sourcing strategies and category management strategies based on market intelligence gathered

  • Oversee RFI, RFP contract development, review processes and utilize appropriate support tools to enhance sustainable results

  • Negotiate and manage key supplier relationships and supply contracts

  • Maintain regular contact with current suppliers and resolve ongoing issues as needed

  • Gather and analyze feedback from Stores and DCs regarding product quality and supplier performance on a monthly basis

  • Work with Stores and DCs to determine category specifications and develop potential alternative lower-cost solutions

  • Maintain current status of all category contracts and agreements on a continuous basis

  • Lead cross functional sourcing teams / Interact cross-functionally with all other departments at BCF and serve as an effective and value-added service for the entire organization

  • Promote continuous improvement/cost reductions on a regular and proactive basis

  • Monitor category purchasing reports and ensure compliance with appropriate established policies an
