The Mortgage Trainer is the facilitator of classroom training programs and is heavily engaged in providing feedback for our program design and development. The Trainer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Delivers training classes by presenting enterprise-wide training programs, as well as business unit, job-specific information, with minimal supervision.
• Coaches production staff in a group environment to improve individual performance.
• Trains production teams on techniques and customer service skills.
• Delivers training classes to newly hired Mortgage Bankers by facilitating their NMLS SAFE and State Specific Education.
• Develops comprehensive knowledge of company products including product composition, product usage and performance variables.
• Establishes and maintains collaborative, consultative relationships that support training objectives and encourage a positive reputation of training group.
• Works to become a subject matter expert in the eyes of the businesses supported.
• Analyzes training program effectiveness against stated program objectives through post-training evaluations.
• Communicates with leadership at all levels.
• Assists with design and development of training programs and training materials.
• Assists manager and team with other special projects and duties as assigned.
• Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.

Qualifications

Experience / Training / Education:

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Education, Instructional Design, Human Resources, and/or Industrial Psychology, or equivalent related experience preferred
• 3 years training facilitation experience, with at least 1 years emphasis on mortgage / sales / customer care call center program delivery; prior experience in the mortgage industry preferred
• Demonstrated history of experience executing effective programs, supported by proven evaluation techniques
• Current NMLS and State Loan Originator license(s) required
• Demonstrated clear capability to take and pass additional NMLS state and federal test
• Experience comfortably speaking in front of large groups
• Experience establishing relationships that support training objectives, as well as maintaining collaborative, consultative relationships to maintain positive reputation of training group
• Experience using web-based Learning Management Systems is desirable

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Thorough knowledge of the mortgage process and products
• Demonstrated effective presentation skills, including ability to adapt communication style to fit the audience
• Ability to plan, conduct and coordinate all aspects of course facilitation
• Experience in developing new courses and curriculum
• Thorough understanding and ability to apply Adult Learning Principles using a wide variety of methods and media to deliver content
• Understanding of classroom management techniques
• Intermediate analytical ability to analyze metrics and trends for reporting
• Ability to create and present progress reports to all levels of management
• Ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in direction; Flexible and adaptable to various situations; Able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Outstanding attention to detail and follow up skills a must
• Excellent oral and written communication skills using multiple media
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, PowerPoint, basic knowledge of Internet
