This individual in this role is responsible for managing merchant data on Discover Card’s fNetwork.

The key objectives of this role are to: ensure the accuracy of the data Discover has related to its merchants, support related products, and manage related vendors. Performance of the individual in this role is measured against these objectives.

This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of Discover’s merchant data. Tasks include reviewing and validating merchant data and making corrections to the data where needed. Relevant data elements include, but are not limited to: merchant names, merchant brands, merchant relationship hierarchies, merchant locations, and merchant category codes (MCC), and partial authorization capable.

This position is also responsible for the operational support of products which utilize merchant data (eg: Merchant DataPlace and the Merchant Offers Platform/Discover Deals). This role is responsible for supporting existing clients who are using these products, onboarding new clients to use these products, reporting on product usage, and making enhancements to these products.

Responsibilities also include managing vendors. Key components of this include monitoring/reporting on service level agreements, working with the vendors to make fixes and enhancements to the product, and reconciling and initiating payments to the vendor.
The individual in this position collaborates with his/her peers in Product Management, Analytics, Marketing, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Outstanding written and oral communication skills
• Strong, demonstrated decision making skills
• Able to work independently
• Time management and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of the Payments Industry
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Lean, Six Sigma and/or demonstrated process improvement expertise
• Database experience
• Experience working with location-based data
